India will fulfill its Future Tours Programme (FTP) commitments and host England in February, before the 2021 IPL season, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has said. In a letter to the board’s state associations with the subject line “Updates from BCCI”, Ganguly said the planning for the senior men’s team, including their tour to Australia in December, was in line with FTP commitments, while plans for the women’s team and domestic cricket were still under consideration.”The senior Indian men’s team will travel to Australia for its series starting in December this year and will come back to the country for a series against England starting from February next year,” Ganguly said in the letter dated August 20, accessed by ESPNcricinfo. “This will be followed by IPL 2021 in April. The tours of the senior Indian women’s teams are also under discussion and more details will be shared shortly.”Apart from a confirmation that India will be hosting the T20 World Cup next year and the 50-overs 2023 World Cup, this was the only definitive statement in the letter regarding India’s schedules. According to the FTP, India were already scheduled to play Australia in December, and host England for their last five World Test Championship matches in February 2021. While Ganguly said these long-term plans remain as they are, there was no mention of the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan in March that is part of their FTP cycle.Earlier this month, the BCCI had drawn up a tentative schedule for the domestic season that is yet to be ratified by the senior officers. In that plan was a truncated domestic season consisting only of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament and the Ranji Trophy for men, starting from November 19, and a Women’s T20 League to begin from November 1. But in the letter, there is no indication of whether those dates have been finalised.”In the domestic cricket context, we are currently in the off season and the BCCI is making all efforts to ensure that domestic cricket resumes as and when the conditions permit,” Ganguly said. “The health and safety of players and all other involved in domestic cricket is of utmost importance to BCCI and we are constantly monitoring all aspects.”ALSO READ – India could begin Australia tour with white-ball cricket, not TestsThe last bit of senior domestic cricket that happened this year was on March 13, the last day of the Ranji Trophy final between Saurashtra and Bengal. Since then, the Covid-19 pandemic has put most cricket – even training – on hold in the country.It was understood that the BCCI was making a “priority list” of domestic tournaments, and this was reflected in the tentative schedule, which had no provisions for any 50-overs cricket for men, and a cancellation of all Challenger Trophies, across age groups, for both men and women.As for IPL 2021, it will be the first instance of two versions of the tournament being played less than six months apart, should it happen in April. That could challenge the scheduled IPL mega auction that was supposed to be held before the 2021 season.As things stand, the only confirmed women’s cricket at the start of the new season is the Women’s T20 Challenge that will be played between November 1 and 10, alongside the IPL. However, that would be in conflict with the tentative schedule, which has the Women’s T20 League running from November 1 to 19. There is no clarity yet on that front.”All Members will be duly informed about the future course of action and suggestions will be taken before we resume domestic cricket,” Ganguly wrote in the letter. “We are hopeful that the Covid-19 situation will improve over the next few months and we will be able to start domestic cricket in a safe and healthy environment.”

وأوضح: “لذلك ليس لدي أي ندم على السنوات التسع الماضية، لن يكون لدي أي ندم في المستقبل لأنني أتعامل مع الأمور يومًا بيوم، أحيانًا تحدث أشياء سيئة وأحيانًا تحدث أشياء جيدة، أحاول فقط الحفاظ على توازن جيد”.

وسُئل عما إذا كان الأفضل لم يأتِ بعد، ليرد راشفورد قائلًا: “100%، هذه عقليتي”.

Jogo intenso

A primeira oportunidade surgiu com os visitantes, em chute de fora da área feito por Djalma Silva. O CRB começou a tomar conta do campo de ataque e a trocar passes perigosos, mas sem grandes oportunidades.

Aos 10′, Djalma cobrou falta na área, Reniê venceu a marcação e bateu cruzado, passando perto. Mais tarde, Celsinho fez boa jogada individual pela direita, passou pela marcação para Rodolfo Filemon fez bom corte para escanteio.

Muitos cartões

Logo depois, Guilherme Romão cobrou falta forte, Simão deu um leve toque e mandou para escanteio. Na cobrança, Gum dominou dentro da área, ajeitou para Romão finalizar e parar na defesa adversária. Em nova bola parada, Bressan deixou Gum em plena condição de abrir o placar, mas o zagueiro testou por cima.

O duelo no primeiro tempo também ficou marcado pelos cartões amarelos, Foram dois para os donos da casa (Jajá e Pablo Dyego) e três para os visitantes (Alemão, Paulo Sérgio e Thomaz. Aos 35′, Júnior Brandão recebeu de Pablo Dyego, invadiu a área e bateu rasteiro, para ótima defesa de Simão. Na resposta, Thomaz dominou bonito e arriscou belo chute, tendo uma boa chance para o Fantasma.

Blitz do Galo e expulsão

Na volta da segunda etapa, Júnior Brandão recebeu de Wesley aos dois minutos. O atacante arrancou pela direita, invadiu a área e bateu cruzado, para fora. Em seguida, foi a vez de Jajá fazer fila, pelo lado esquerdo e cruzou com perigo. Novamente o camisa 11 apareceu, desta vez, finalizou para ótima defesa de Simão. Em forte pressão, o CRB voltou para o campo de ataque e Bressan finalizou com força.

Aos 13 minutos, Pablo Dyego cometeu falta no meio-campo, tomou o segundo amarelo e foi expulso. Com um a mais, o Operário começou a ter mais a posse de bola e buscou brechas na defesa do CRB, que se fechou.Aos 19′, Djalma cruzou pra Rodrigo Pimpão foi derrubado na área e pediu pênalti, mas a arbitragem não marcou.

Fantasma em cima e mais uma reclamação de pênalti

O Fantasma buscava brechas e os donos da casa tinha a proposta de jogo bem clara: se fechar e tentar marcar nos contragolpes. Alisson Farias cobrou falta na esquerda, Romão apareceu bem alto para desviar na primeira trave, para fora. Logo depois, Jajá invadiu a área, foi derrubado e pediu a marcação de pênalti, ignorado pelo juiz.

Na reta final, o Operário foi para o ataque. Marcelo tentou, mas chutou fraco. Filemon subiu mais que toda a defesa do CRB, mas cabeceou por cima. Alex Silva invadiu a área a bateu cruzado. Paulo Sérgio na pequena área e Djalma de fora perderam excelentes chances de levar a vitória para o Paraná.

United ready to cut losses on struggling star

Now, it has emerged that Manchester United are willing to sell Antony this summer, but that it may well be easier said than done. The 24-year-old has endured a torrid two seasons at Old Trafford, with his sixteen goal contributions just two more than the number of yellow cards he has picked up at the Theatre of Dreams.

Despite his early struggles, Erik ten Hag revealed he still believed in Antony's ability following a defeat to Brighton back in May 2023, claiming he had the potential to be a "great player".

“I think his passion is a strength,” the Dutchman began. “Of course, until a certain level you have to control it. But you need passion and desire to win your games and to win battles in the game. It’s true, it’s very strong with him.

“He is very ambitious. As I say, don’t go over the top, stay focused on your game and what the game needs. If he is doing that, he is a great player.”

But in the time since that has clearly changed, and the Brazilian has slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford. He started just two Premier League games in 2024, and didn't even make it off the bench in the final two games of the season, finishing the campaign with just one goal and one assist to his name after 29 outings.

Signed for a massive £86m and handed a luxurious five year deal worth £200,000 per week, his value has deteriorated rapidly with Transfermarkt now suggesting that the Brazilian is worth just £21m, less than a quarter of what the club shelled out for him less than two years ago.

And it is questionable whether or not United would even receive that fee for him, with the 24-year-old having failed to show any of the talent that made him so coveted at Ajax this side of the English channel. If they do though, they are now ready to consider it, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

"At the moment, the situation is really, really quiet", he told GIVEMESPORT. "In case they receive an important proposal, I think it will be considered by all parties."

Any deal to a club outside of Saudi Arabia would likely require Antony to drop his wages too, with few clubs in Europe able to offer the sort of money that he currently pockets at Old Trafford.

Though an altogether unlikely departure this summer then, it speaks volumes to his fall from grace that his exit is even being considered.

Shankar Basu, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s strength and conditioning coach, feels Virat Kohli has come back from the pandemic-enforced break in cricket “in much better shape”. Basu, who has worked with the Indian team as well, outlined in an interview with PTI how Kohli kept fit during lockdown, how RCB’s return to training has been going, and how players’ workload will be managed in the special current circumstances. Here are excerpts of his interview with PTI.On Kohli’s lockdown fitness routine: “He is at his best weight at the moment”
“He [Kohli] has come back in much better shape. He is at his best weight at the moment and his movement patterns are pretty much in sync with his best self in the past.”He has taken this break as an opportunity to work on all the pointers which needed attention from a physical point.”He had the time to be very specific with his meal plans and running intervals at home. He did not have much of a choice during the lockdown and he invested on a treadmill and worked on his endurance which is otherwise not possible during a packed calendar.”He did shuttle running in his apartment, which had a little space. With all these constraints, the attitude stood out more than the workout.”His customised strength work to compliment that was his mantra during the lockout. Hydration, balanced amount of protein, carbs, and good fat will do the trick. And to combat the heat – again, we have our wellness and load-monitoring system, which will be put to good use.”

Young talents are also high on Rangers' shopping list with the club holding talks with Middlesbrough striker Ajay Matthews after he chose to leave his current club this summer. Rangers are also said to be keen on signing Motherwell forward Theo Bair, however the club will have to face off with Celtic for his signature.

With a slew of fresh faces set to arrive at Ibrox this summer, Rangers have now been linked with a move for a sought after free agent.

Rangers check on big money free agent

As first reported by HITC, Rangers are among numerous clubs that have checked on Ryan Sessegnon. The outlet states that the Ibrox outfit are joined by Fulham, Leeds United, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Real Betis, Monza, Como and Atalanta in their pursuit of the former Tottenham man.

HITC also claims that the club furthest along in the race to sign the 24-year-old are West Ham, who have reportedly made more serious enquiries about bringing the left back to the London Stadium this summer.

Sessegnon was released from Spurs at the end of last season after the Englishman struggled to break into Ange Postecoglou's squad playing just seven senior minutes over the course of the campaign. The 24-year-old also suffered a string of unfortunate injuries that saw him sidelined for much of the season.

The full back first arrived in North London back in 2019 in a £25 million transfer from Fulham. Sessegnon earned his move off the back of the 2017/18 season which saw the then 17-year-old pick up the accolades of both Championship Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season. The Englishman contributed 15 goals and 6 assists over the course of that campaign.

Whilst Sessegnon long looked like a future England international, the 24-year-old struggled with the step-up to the Premier League. Speaking back in 2019, former Fulham boss Scott Parker spoke on Sessegnon's challenges but also obvious quality telling the press: "It's a different challenge for him, it's been a little bit up and down, anyone would expect the same, that's what happens – you have blips. He's an unbelievable talent."

Sessegnon's most recent contract with Spurs saw him command a weekly wage of £55,000 per capology, however it is likely that the clubs queueing up for his signature will offer a slightly lower pay packet.

Whilst Sessegnon has not hit the heights that many envisioned he would, Rangers could get themselves a steal by bringing in a free agent that could still end up going right to the very top.
