سُئل بيب جوارديولا، المدير الفني لفريق مانشستر سيتي، في مؤتمره الصحفي، عما إذا كان سيوقع عقدًا مع هاري كين مهاجم توتنهام الإنجليزي في الصيف.

وأفادت تقارير صحفية بريطانية، أن هاري كين أخبر توتنهام برغبته في الرحيل بنهاية الموسم الحالي عن صفوف الفريق.

وأكدت تقارير أخرى أن هاري كين يريد الانضمام إلى مانشستر سيتي، وطالب ناديه بوضع عرضهم في الاعتبار (طالع التفاصيل كاملة من هنا).

وتم سؤال جوارديولا عن التوقيع مع هاري كين، وذلك عقب مباراة مانشستر سيتي وبرايتون في الدوري الإنجليزي.

ورد جوارديولا في تصريحات نشرها الموقع الرسمي لشبكة “بي بي سي” البريطانية: “السؤال التالي، هاري كين لاعب توتنهام، من فضلك!”.

يُذكر أن مانشستر سيتي حامل لقب البريميرليج، تعرض للهزيمة من برايتون بنتيجة (3-2).

Southampton defender Jack Stephens has told The Daily Echo that he believes he is currently in his “last chance” to get back in the team and stay there, and he is certainly making the most of it.

What did he say?

In what was described as a candid interview by The Daily Echo, the 25-year-old said on winning his place back in the team last month having failed to play since the opening day of the season:

“I had to go into the Man City game with a selfish mindset and prove that I’m good enough to play for the club.

“I just felt like it was maybe my last chance to get back in the team and to stay in the team.

“It was a long time since I’d played, and it was starting to feel like maybe it wasn’t going to happen for me.

“I’ve had my doubters, I think that’s fair to say. For me, there is that little bit of I’ve got something to prove and I want to prove it.

“I want to show that I’m good enough to play for this football club and that I can play centre-half for this team.”

He is proving it

Following his start in the 3-0 defeat against Burnley back in August, the former Plymouth Argyle youngster was dropped from Ralph Hasenhuttl’s squad completely for their following two top flight fixtures, and didn’t return to action until half-time of the 9-0 monstrosity against Leicester City.

There was little Stephens could do about that, but his performances against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup – in which he was their highest-rated Saints player according to WhoScored and also found the net – and in the Premier League – in which he made 15 clearances – suggest he still has a future with the south coast outfit.

He was also one of the only players to come out of the Everton defeat with any credit as he made some incisive passes from the back, and he was once again impressive against Arsenal at the weekend.

Showing some much-needed composure, he reduced the threat of the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, even if the latter did score a brace.

His concentration appears to have improved for the time being, and with the centre-back spots fully up for grabs he is doing everything he can to become a mainstay at the heart of Hasenhuttl’s backline.

It is fair to say that Leeds fans and Lee Johnson don’t exactly get along, and the Bristol City manager’s latest comments seem to have wound up supporters once more.

The Robins boss previously admitted that the Whites showed a different level of class in their 3-1 victory on the opening day of the season, but recently remarked that a clash with Marcelo Bielsa’s side would now be a lot more competitive.

Leeds fans disagree, and perhaps for good reason. They sit comfortably in second place, eight points ahead of Bristol City and have conceded just ten goals compared to the Robins’ 27.

That means the Yorkshire side would surely be favourites if the two met soon, though the real test will, of course, be when Johnson takes his side to Elland Road.

Supporters are confident that a gulf in class still exists between the two sides, as evidenced by their responses below.

There is still a little animosity between the two parties, and not all of it stems from an unshakeable belief that Leeds are a lot better than Johnson makes them out to be.

Prior to the two clubs opening day clash, the Bristol City manager made a joke about him and his assistant coaches watching Leeds’ training sessions prior to their clash – a jibe about ‘Spygate’.

Fans didn’t take kindly to his comments and suggested that he needed to grow up, and it appears relations haven’t yet eased despite that occurring several months ago.

Some supporters feel it is two-way traffic, however, with Johnson commenting on them as much as the other way round.

وأضاف: “بعد ذلك ما أريده هو الفوز، أريد أن أشعر أنني في مكان يُمكنني أن أفوز فيه حقًا، حيث يوجد مشروع قوي من حولي، أنا آكل كرة القدم، وأعيش على كرة القدم، وبالتالي فإن المشروع الرياضي ضروري”.

وواصل: “نحن واضحين للغاية مع النادي، سنفعل الشيء الصحيح بطريقة أو بأخرى”.

وتابع: “أريد أن أشعر أننا مع فريق قادر على القيام بشيء ما في دوري أبطال أوروبا، ثم الأمر متروك لنا لإظهار ما يمكننا القيام به، سنتناقش مع النادي، ونرى ما سيحدث، على أي حال، كنت سعيدًا هُنا وأمضيت أربع سنوات استثنائية”.

وأردف: “نحن واضحون جدًا مع النادي، باريس سان جيرمان يعرف علاقتنا به، ومع هذه المدينة وهذه الدولة، كما قلت سنقوم بالأشياء بالطريقة الصحيحة”.

وأكد: “أنا لا أستطيع أن أقول ما سنفعله، أنا مجرد لاعب لكن أعتقد أن الناس رأوا، والجميع شاهد، عندما يرى الجميع، من الأسهل استخلاص النتائج، لا تقلق، فقدنا اللقب، وعلينا التركيز على المستقبل”.

وعندما قال له أحد الصحفيين، آمل أن يكون المُستقبل معك، رفض الفرنسي الرد، وغادر دون أن يجيب على السؤال.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Garry Monk has revealed that Fernando Forestieri is set to face an extended spell on the sidelines after his knee injury appears to be worse than first thought.

What’s he said?

The Owls head to Derby County on Wednesday evening as they look to build on back-to-back victories in the Championship.

Their win over Charlton Athletic was slightly marred by the 29-year-old picking up an injury in what was his first start under Monk since he took over in September.

Forestieri could only last 45 minutes, coming off at half-time with a suspected knee problem.

His manager originally believed it was merely a niggle and it could only be a matter of seven to ten days, but that has since changed, speaking this week he said:

“It could possibly be a little bit longer.

“We will have to wait and see whether this week is going to be good for him or not.

“I have to keep assessing it. We have to be careful. He has had inconsistency or so in the last two years.

“We will assess him as we go along and see what happens.”

Setback

Things just can’t get going for the Italian forward this season, both himself and the club must be frustrated.

He has been in and out of the side all season, mainly because he was handed a six-match ban for alleged racist abuse, and then on his return, he needed to get up to speed with match fitness quickly.

Forestieri had come off the bench in five of their last six matches before the trip to The Valley, scoring one goal in the process, so this injury must come at the worst time.

Wednesday ultimately need a player of his talent and flair, a fully fit and firing forward that has been their top scorer twice in the blue and white stripes is only going to benefit their playoff push.

أكد سامي قمصان، مدرب الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بالنادي الأهلي على جاهزية الفريق لمباراة نهضة بركان في السوبر الإفريقي المقرر إقامته مساء غدٍ الجمعة، على ملعب جاسم بن حمد بنادي السد، مشيرًا إلى أن الأهلي يحترم الفريق المغربي، خاصة أنه يضم مجموعة من اللاعبين أصحاب الخبرة.

وقال قمصان في تصريحات للموقع الرسمي بالأهلي: “نتائج أو ترتيب نهضة بركان في مسابقة الدوري ليست مقياسا في مباراة السوبر الإفريقي، وهناك الكثير من النماذج في مختلف الدوريات يشاركون في نهائيات البطولات، رغم أن ترتيبهم ليس الأول في جدول المسابقة”.

وأضاف مدرب الفريق: “بغض النظر عن وضع نهضة بركان في الدوري، لكنه يضم عناصر مميزة، وترتيبه في جدول الدوري المغربي لا يعد مؤشرا على مستواه، ولو نظرنا، سوف نجد تشلسي يخوض نهائي دوري أبطال أوروبا يوم السبت المقبل أمام مانشستر سيتي في الوقت الذي يحتل فيه المركز الرابع في ترتيب الدوري الإنجليزي”.

وأوضح: “هناك كايزر تشيفز الجنوب إفريقي الذي تأهل إلى نصف نهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا، ويخوض مباراته أمام الوداد في شهر يونيو المقبل، رغم تراجع ترتيبه في مسابقة الدوري واحتلاله المركز الـ11”.

وشدد قمصان على أن المباريات النهائية لا تعترف بأي ترتيب، ولا تخضع لمقاييس، خاصة أن المباراة 90 دقيقة، وكل فريق يبحث عن الفوز باللقب، لكن الأهلي يسعى للتحقيق الفوز والتتويج باللقب السابع في السوبر الإفريقي.

وأشار قمصان إلى أن الوصول المبكر إلى قطر ساهم في إراحة اللاعبين، وحصولهم على الاستشفاء، ومنحهم فرصة التركيز بقوة في مباراة السوبر الإفريقي أمام نهضة بركان، خاصة أن رحلة السفر من جنوب إفريقيا إلى قطر مرورا بأسوان، تجاوزت الـ12ساعة.

واستطرد: “الأهلي حقق الخطوة الأولى بنجاح، من خلال تخطي صن داونز في ربع النهائي، والتأهل إلى نصف نهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا، ويتمنى أن تكتمل مهمة الفريق في الخطوة الثانية بالتتويج بلقب السوبر الإفريقي”.

وأكمل قمصان: “جمهور الأهلي داعم قوي لنا، وحضورهم (فأل حسن) على الفريق، وأتمنى أن نراهم في مدرجات ملعب جاسم بن حمد، خاصة بعد دورهم الكبير، في بطولة كأس العالم للأندية، ومساهمتهم في تتويج الفريق بالميدالية البرونزية”.

واختتم سامي قمصان تصريحاته مؤكدا أن تخطي صن داونز، والتأهل إلى الدور النصف النهائي في دوري أبطال إفريقيا منح الفريق دفعة معنوية قوية قبل مواجهة نهضة بركان في السوبر الإفريقي، وعلينا أن نبذل أقصى جهد خلال المباراة؛ لتحقيق الفوز والعودة بالكأس إلى القاهرة.

Former Everton star Tim Cahill believes the Toffees are on their way to securing Champions League football in two years. 

The Aussie recently spoke to Jamie Carragher through Instagram Live (via Liverpool ECHO), and reflected on the current Everton side under Carlo Ancelotti compared to Marco Silva’s reign.

“I just didn’t get anything from him [Silva]. I got no excitement. No emotion,” the ex-Aussie international said about the former Blues boss.

Silva was given the boot in December before Duncan Ferguson stepped in as caretaker manager, followed by Carlo and Davide Ancelotti. The progress under the new hierarchy has been astonishing.

“Now we have Carlo Ancelotti and I feel like he can attract a player,” Cahill continued. “I feel like this could be the turning point for Everton. I feel like next season we can target top six or Champions League places.”

Earlier this season, the Toffees were fighting an uphill battle to claw their way out from under the deadly pull of the relegation zone. Now they sit 12th in the table, just six points behind sixth placed Wolves. The transformation since Ancelotti took charge has been truly inspiring and is showing glimmers of former Everton sides that pushed top six every season.

The Blues have failed to qualify for Europe for the past five seasons and have yo-yoed between a mid-table finish and just falling shy of a top six spot. That could all change after Ancelotti makes use of his first transfer window with the club, which could be the first step towards what would be a major achievement in qualifying for the Champions League.

Cahill went on to praise Farhad Moshiri and believes a strong and well-gelled hierarchy will make Everton a success once more.

“I expect Everton to finish in the top four in the next two years purely because of the owners.”

O Botafogo chega para enfrentar o Vasco com algumas incertezas no time titular. Danilo está com um problema físico e pode desfalcar a equipe de Davide Ancelotti. Além dele, o lateral-direito Vitinho, que esteve com Seleção Brasileira durante a Data Fifa, deve ser uma ausência entre os onze iniciais. O meia Savarino, que foi convocado pela seleção venezuelana, também não deve iniciar a partida.
