ألفيس عاد إلى برشلونة بعد مرور 5 سنوات على رحيله عن الفريق الكتالوني، ويأمل عشاق البلوجرانا في عودة عاطفية مثل هذه لأسطورة ناديهم ميسي.

وكان ميسي رحل إلى باريس سان جيرمان في صفقة انتقال حر بعد فشل برشلونة في تجديد عقده بسبب حد الرواتب الموضوع من رابطة الليجا والأزمة المالية للنادي الإسباني.

وعلق ألفيس على الأمر خلال المؤتمر الصحفي الخاص بتقديمه لاعبًا لبرشلونة، ونشرت صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو” الإسبانية تصريحاته.

Kevin Phillips has tipped newly-promoted Leeds United to bring exiled Spurs left-back, Danny Rose, back to Elland Road.

The England international is approaching the final six months of his contract in north London and after slipping drastically down the pecking order, this summer will call time on his 13-year era with the Lilywhites.

It’s a tough pill to swallow for Rose who has only had two permanent clubs in his professional career.

He joined Spurs from Leeds back in 2007 and he now finds himself being shown the door by Daniel Levy.

The 30-year-old hasn’t made a single appearance for Tottenham this season and has been demoted to the reserve league, which is a huge slap in the face.

Why Leeds should sign Danny Rose

Speaking to Football Insider, Phillips thinks that snapping up Rose next summer would be a “no brainer” for Andrea Radrizzani.

“I imagine Leeds would look at Danny Rose. It will not be about money for him at this stage,” the ex-striker said. “He will want to play football and I am sure he would love to play in a Marcelo Bielsa side. A specialised, experience left-back who is good on the ball. He could slot in quite nicely.”

Indeed, with things turning extremely sour down in London, Rose will likely take a wage cut in order to secure regular playing time. With no transfer fee to pay next year, it’s an extremely attractive bit of business for Leeds.

Bielsa is also struggling with an injury-stricken squad at the moment, with both Robin Koch and Diego Llorente on the sidelines.

This has forced Luke Ayling to cover the centre-back position, with Stuart Dallas moving to right-back. Whilst it’s a testament to these players’ versatility, it’s alarming that Leeds have such little depth when it comes to their defensive options.

Rose would be a huge boost in this department and would likely get regular minutes with Dallas now taking on a new midfield role.

Re-signing the 30-year-old dynamo in the summer should be an option that Radrizzani is already considering, as it would benefit all parties involved in the move.

Speaking exclusively to Transfer Tavern, former Premier League referee Mark Halsey discussed Jurgen Klopp’s booking in Liverpool’s draw on Sunday.

In the fixture itself, Liverpool took an early lead in the first half through Sadio Mane’s brilliantly taken finish, however, Klopp’s side failed to make their dominance of the ball count – the Reds ended the game with 78% possession – as Semi Ajayi headed home a West Brom equaliser in the 82nd minute, with the game ending 1-1.

However, during the second half of the match, Klopp was left furious as a foul was awarded against Rhys Williams by referee Kevin Friend, with the German launching a verbal tirade directed towards the official, which led to Friend booking the 53-year-old.

And, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who was co-commentating on the game for Sky Sports, suggested that Klopp’s anger could have been because Friend gave the manager a ‘cheeky smile’.

“I don’t think Kevin would have been trying to antagonise him or be arrogant towards him or mimic him,” Halsey told Transfer Tavern. “Perhaps he just smiled in a way just, you know, to calm him down.”

He continued: “Anyway, I’ve been told by my former colleagues who are still active now that he’s come up to referees to shake hands and has said, ‘I’m doing this for the cameras, I don’t really like you people,’ so if you’re saying [that] to the officials, what would you expect?”

While Halsey claims that Klopp could well have deserved a wry smile from Freind due to his previous actions towards referees, if the official did indeed antagonise the manager with a grin, it is not exactly professional behaviour.

However, with Liverpool still sitting three points clear at the top of the Premier League table, Klopp would do well to put this incident behind him, and rather concentrate his energy on Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures in the league, which are coming thick and fast.

Speaking to the press before Tottenham’s FA Cup tie against minnows Marine on Sunday, manager Jose Mourinho has shared his worry surrounding the ‘major concern’ of a postponement for their mid-week trip to Aston Villa – going on to say it would leave them in a ‘completely impossible’ situation. 

A COVID-19 outbreak at Villa Park has thrown Spurs’ encounter with Dean Smith’s men into serious doubt, and Mourinho is currently sweating over the prospect of a fixture pile up which could cause all manner of issues.

Mourinho speaks out over postponement fears

So much so, the Lilywhites boss has come out to declare that his side would ‘never’ accept playing three games in three weeks due to postponed fixtures – going on to call out the Premier League whilst imploring them to show ‘leadership’.

“I believe that it’s a completely impossible situation for a club to have three matches postponed, especially if that club plays in Europe.” explained the Tottenham boss.

“If it is a club that doesn’t play in Europe, there are always the UEFA fixtures, which are six to eight fixtures for Champions League teams and in the Europa League case even more. So for a Europa League team to have three matches postponed is impossible. Completely impossible. That’s the only thing I can say.

“We cannot be put in an impossible situation. So I repeat: to have three matches postponed is impossible. It’s not for us to find solutions, I think it’s the moment for the Premier League to show leadership and make decisions.”

Villa’s postponement does come as a ‘major concern’ for Spurs, as described by Dan Kilpatrick, with Mourinho making his feelings on the matter abundantly clear.

Given the implications of a fixture pile up and what it could mean for the club, the Lilywhites boss has every right to be sweating over a worrying development.

Devido à rivalidade entre os clubes, a brincadeira rapidamente viralizou nas redes sociais. Nesta sexta-feira, o meia concedeu entrevista coletiva na Gávea e explicou como surgiram estas imagens. Ele contou que gravou a mensagem a pedido de um torcedor, mas não imaginava que o vídeo chegaria à internet.

-A pessoa me havia dito que era para um amigo dele e depois terminou na internet. Sei da rivalidade que há, mas (o jogo) não é mais que uma partida de futebol. São duas equipes que têm grandes jogadores. Futebol é para somar paixão e alegria. O vídeo era supostamente para um amigo daquela pessoa. Não tive a intenção de ofender ninguém, não sou assim. A ideia é desfrutar de uma grande jogo, não é sempre que se pode jogar um clássico – comentou.

O meia argentino vai estrear oficialmente com a camisa do Flamengo na próxima quarta-feira, contra a Portuguesa, no Estádio Raulino de Oliveira, em Volta Redonda. O jogador falou nesta sexta sobre a expectativa para ir a campo, mas evitou dizer se é titular no time de Muricy Ramalho.

-Estou com muita gana e vontade de vencer com os companheiros. Não sei se vou aguentar os 90 minutos, mas fizemos um trabalho de preparação muito bom. Espero começar a jogar e que saia tudo bem – comentou.

Liam Kennedy has dropped a quite promising claim on any possible takeover of Newcastle United by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) group.

Writing in his latest piece for The Shields Gazette, the football journalist claimed that there is a ‘growing optimism’ from both the buyers and the seller in terms of trying to get the proposed £300m deal between Mike Ashley and the KSA consortium back on track.

It would of course require the KSA’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) to come back to the table to revive the original bid, but such optimism on both sides of the deal can only be seen as massively encouraging news.

What next for the potential Newcastle takeover?

The arbitration hearing between the St. James’ Park faithful and the Premier League is yet to take place over their legal disputes over the previous failed takeover bid, but the result of that will surely give a better idea as to what the next steps are with regards to its possible resurrection.

Still, the ‘growing optimism’ in both camps should give some members of the Toon Army at least some form of hope that it can eventually go through, providing that all of the pieces of the jigsaw are carefully put in place.
