This has not been a particularly busy January transfer window for Celtic but with deadline day right around the corner, anything can happen.

What’s the word?

Celtic may not be bringing in too many players but it looks like one could leave before the deadline passes.

That happens to be Olivier Ntcham, someone who’s been out of favour under Neil Lennon this season.

According to Sky Sports, Newcastle want to sign the French midfielder on a loan deal until the end of the campaign.

They have made an enquiry for Ntcham but if Celtic are to allow him to leave, they also want to include an option to buy clause in the terms of the deal. Marseille are also reportedly interested.

This wouldn’t exactly be a big blow to the Hoops, but they will need a replacement from somewhere.

Dazzling Tavares

Celtic’s January window has been pretty poor all things considered. The Hoops have won just nine of their last 24 games and things are getting no easier.

Thus, new recruits could do wonders in terms of reviving attitudes at Parkhead. One way of replacing Ntcham would be with Leicester’s Sidnei Tavares.

Earlier this month it was reported that Celtic were monitoring the 19-year-old’s situation in England with the player out of contract in the summer.

Barcelona and Juventus are also in the race to sign him so there is clearly a big lure. This is a player who possesses similar traits to Ntcham too. Despite his age, he is eye-catching, using brute force to score goals and make an impact defensively.

For context, in the EFL Trophy this season, he has been a huge influence for Leicester’s academy. He scored and assisted in a 3-1 win over Grimsby, a performance that demonstrated he has what it takes to thrive against senior opposition.

Furthermore, the teenager has made two tackles and two interceptions per match for the Foxes in that competition. Based on that evidence, Tavares has a glistening array of qualities.

He’s a player endorsed by former Celtic boss Rodgers too. After a pre-season win over Birmingham, the manager commented: “Sidnei Tavares in the first half was outstanding, he’s got real quality and he’s a real talent.”

Celtic supporters won’t need telling how good an eye for talent Rodgers has so if he’s a fan, then it certainly bodes well for the Bhoys.

Considering he’s out of contract this summer, they could make a permanent move on the cheap before the deadline passes. Failing that, they could replace Ntcham in the summer on a free transfer.

This would be cracking business from Nick Hammond.

Manchester United have suffered a fresh injury setback after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Paul Pogba will be out for a few weeks, which has ruled him out of his side’s Premier League clash with West Brom on Sunday.

Although the 27-year-old made just 13 starts for the Red Devils in an injury-ridden campaign last season, he has managed to stay fit for the most part of this season and impressed in their final game last year against Leicester City on Boxing Day.

Pogba then played in seven Premier League fixtures in a row, including the 0-0 draws with Arsenal and Liverpool. He was then an unused substitute against Southampton but he limped off the pitch during the first half in his last appearance against Everton after appearing to suffer a muscle injury.

And, in his pre-match press conference ahead of facing West Brom, Solskjaer revealed he is still working his way back to fitness and as such, he will be missing for the trip to the Hawthorns on Sunday.

“We’ve had a rare opportunity to do a little bit of training and some recovery Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and not a game until Sunday which is a rarity for us. Paul is still out, Eric been training, that’s a boost for us,” he said:

Big blow for Solskjaer

This fresh setback will come as a blow for United and Solskjaer ahead of this weekend’s trip to West Brom – particularly after Pogba’s performances in January saw him nominated for the GIVEMESPORT Fans’ Player of the Month award.

Pogba played out of position on the left-wing for United against Arsenal and offered a threat going forwards as Solskjaer’s side strove to break the deadlock.

The Frenchman completed 90% of his passes, made one key pass and took 92 touches in a game made for him against a struggling Arsenal side who look short of ideas and lost for confidence.

Crucially, he even dropped deeper to cover United’s leaky defence, as he attempted two clearances and three interceptions, whilst he was only dribbled past once.

Solskjaer is hardly short of midfield options, with the likes of Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic and Donny van de Beek all competing for a starting spot in Solskjaer’s XI.

However, Pogba’s absence will be a big miss if he remains absent for an extended period of time, as very few can come close to matching his achievements on the pitch.

Only McTominay has scored more goals than Pogba while the French World Cup winner has contributed to more goals across all competitions than Matic and Van de Beek combined this season.

The United manager does have plenty of options to come in and replace Pogba, but he might have a tough decision deciding who to go with.

وتابع: “الأهلي ناد يمتاز بالتوازن خصوصًا على مستوى الإدارة وأقصد هنا رئيس النادي وفريقه، هم دائما أشخاص مناسبون ومحترفون على مستوى كرة القدم كما كان في فترتي مع علاء عبد الصادق ووائل جمعة”.

وبسؤاله عن قوة فريق الرجاء، أجاب: “باعوا سفيان رحيمي وغيروا رئيس النادي وكذلك المدير الفني الجديد لم يلعب مباريات كثيرة مع الفريق فأعتقد أن هذه ميزة للأهلي، ونعم الرجاء فريق جيد ويمتلك لاعبين جيدين وخصوصا عبد الإله حفيظي هو مفتاح لعب جيد وذو جودة عالية وأيضا بن حليب والزنيتي”.

وأضاف: “لكن لديهم مدير فني جديد أعتقد أنه أدار مباراتين فقط في الدوري المغربي فأعتقد أنه توقيت صعب على أي مدرب لإدارة فريق في هذا التوقيت وخصوصا وجود الكثير من لاعبي الفريق مع المنتخب المغربي”.

وحول فترة تواجده مع الأهلي، أوضح: “كان لي ذكريات جيدة مثل نهائي كأس الكونفدرالية وقتها أحمد عادل عبد المنعم حارس المرمى كان مهما لأنه أصيب في المباراة ولم يطلب التبديل وتحامل على نفسه، كذلك هدف عماد متعب”.

وتابع مدرب الأهلي الأسبق: “وسعد سمير وحسام غالي فكلنا في هذه المباراة كنا مقاتلين وخصوصاً على المستوى الذهني لأننا كنا نعلم أن المباراة كانت صعبة جدا لأن هدف سيوي سبور كان كارثة بالنسبة لنا”.

Whilst Manchester City were able to make it 20 wins in a row in all competitions with a 2-1 win against West Ham on Saturday afternoon, the performance was not at the level City have been producing in recent weeks.

Torres also struggled to win many of his duels during the game, as he was successful in just 3/10 in total, resulting in a less than impressive 30% success rate. For comparison, City’s right-winger Riyad Mahrez would win 4/5 during his time on the pitch.

Therefore, despite the three points being the most important thing, Torres was rarely involved at the Etihad and it seems unlikely that he will feature again soon, especially when you consider the form of Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling in recent weeks.

Carlo Ancelotti can say goodbye to the linked-away Yerry Mina at the end of the season if Everton are able to win the emerging race to sign Torino FC defender Gleison Bremer.

According to Toro News, several Premier League clubs have made a note of Bremer’s ever-improving performances in the Serie A and could look to make a move this summer.

Bremer has started all 19 of his Italian top-flight appearances this term and added a fourth goal for the campaign, when the centre-half headed home a late winner away to relegation-rivals Cagliari Calcio last Friday.

His efforts have Everton, West Ham United and Fulham on alert, while Liverpool are also keen on the Brazilian’s situation as one of several options who could feature in Jurgen Klopp’s backline next season.

Fulham are only expected to pursue the 23-year-old should Scott Parker secure the Craven Cottage outfit’s Premier League status for another year, after previous efforts to sign the £18,000-per-week beast failed to materialise.

Torino are aware of the heightening interest in Bremer’s services and will look to hedge the risk of losing him by awarding the centre-back a new contract, with President Urbano Cairo and Sporting Director Davide Vagnati already in contact with the player’s agent.

But the priority remains Serie A safety, with the side of newly-appointed head coach Davide Nicola just five points clear of the bottom three after beating 18th-placed Cagliari for a first win in eight league games.

Hello Bremer, goodbye Mina?

Reports of Everton’s interest in Bremer follow claims by the Daily Mail that Ancelotti could look to move Mina on in the summer, with the Italian still facing question marks over his best defensive partnership.

Mina has made 19 appearances in the Premier League this term, starting each, having bounced back from a blunt early-season assessment from Ancelotti when the £18m-rated titan delivered a shaky first-half performance at home to West Bromwich Albion.

“Yerry had an average game, I think he could be more aggressive and do more with the ball,” Ancelotti said in September, via quotes by the Liverpool Echo.

“The only aspect we have to look at is him being more aggressive when he can press the opening. But he did really well against Tottenham [in the season-opener].”

Yet as doubt still appears to linger over Mina’s future, Everton could look to move on from the £120,000-per-week defender – notably their joint-highest earner – by pursuing Bremer.

The Torino ace is seen as a defence-first type with a great read of the game and an aggressive approach to breaking up opposition play, helping toward an average 2.1 interceptions per game in the Serie A this term, per SofaScore.

He also offers 1.4 successful tackles and 4.3 clearances on average to help his side claim five clean sheets – roughly one in every four appearances. Mina, meanwhile, has averaged 1.1 interceptions, 1.0 tackles and 4.5 clearances to help Everton claim four clean sheets in the Premier League – close to a one in every five games.

Mina and Bremer are also comparable for duels won with the Colombian successful in 1.6 ground contests (55%) and 3.1 aerial challenges (68%) a game, while the Brazilian wins 1.9 (55%) on the ground and 2.9 (63%) in the air.

So, if Everton are looking to move Mina on and are open to signing Bremer, the Toffees would seemingly not be taking a step back by signing a player consistently improving in Italy, and potentially one that ticks more of Ancelotti’s boxes than the Italian’s current option.

واسترسل: “يتمتع كامافينجا بجودة وقوة هائلة لكن يجب أن يتعلم ويكتسب الخبرة والمعرفة للمركز الذي يلعب فيه، ليس لديه بعد لكنه يبلغ من العمر 19 عامًا، كل يوم يتدرب فيه إلى جانب مودريتش أو كروس أو كاسيميرو سيكون بمثابة الماجستير له، أنا متأكد من أن كامافينجا يتعلم مما يراه من زملائه في الفريق يفعلونه في التدريبات أكثر مما يتعلمه مما قلته له”.

وتطرق أنشيلوتي للحديث عن كريم بنزيما وقال: “كريم أفضل مُهاجم في العالم لأنه يضيف الآن اتساقًا كبيرًا في التهديف إلى كرة القدم، لديه مثل كريستيانو أو هالاند، يصنع الفارق، لقد رأيناه للتو مرة أخرى ضد بلباو بتسجيل هدفين في وقت قصير للغاية”.

وعن فينيسيوس جونيور والذي انفجر تهديفيًا هذا الموسم مع المرينيجي: “لقد تحسّن فينيسيوس لأنه يفعل الأشياء بسرعة أقل من ذي قبل، تغير بشكل خاص لأنه يأخذ استراحة في اللحظات المهمة من كل مباراة، الشيء المهم في اللاعب هو أنه يقوم بالأشياء الصعبة بشكل جيد لأن الأشياء السهلة تنتهي في النهاية”.

وأسهب: “الآن يتمتع فينيسيوس بسرعة وموهبة رائعة، لم أر أبدًا لاعبًا يتمتع بقدرته على المراوغة واحد ضد واحد، لكن لا يزال لديه القدرة على التحسين على سبيل المثال في اللعب بدون كرة وفي المساحات الهجومية وفي التسديدة حيث يمكنه التقدم والتطور”.

واختتم المدرب الإيطالي تصريحاته قائلًا: “الالتزام الأول في مدريد هو الفوز، لكن تقدم وتطور الشباب هدف آخر،  نحن نعمل عن كثب مع كاستيا وهناك العديد من اللاعبين من الفريق الرديف الذين يظهرون في الفريق الأول، هم المستقبل وشيئًا فشيء سنضطر إلى وضعها، الآن مع الوباء تفتح الفرص أمامهم، الشيء المهم هو أن أولئك الذين ينضمون إليها يفعلون ذلك ولديهم القدرة على المنافسة، كما رأينا في المباراة الأخيرة في بلباو مع بيتر فيديريكو”.

Completa a lista alvinegra o zagueiro chileno Miguel Escalona, que marcou contra as próprias redes na vitória por 1 a 0 do Corinthians diante do Cobresal, na primeira rodada da fase de grupos da Libertadores.

O Corinthians anotou 17 gols em 12 jogos oficiais na temporada. Somando-se a pré-temporada foram três na vitória diante do Shakhtar Donetsk, da Ucrânia, marcados por Danilo e Romero (duas vezes).
