According to a report by reliable Lilywhites correspondent Alasdair Gold, finding a perfect deal for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium naming rights is expected to gather pace and could come ‘sooner rather than later’ – with this exciting update coming as potentially positive news for Spurs.

Chairman Daniel Levy, amid the financial complications caused by this COVID-19 global pandemic, is questing to secure the perfect naming rights deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s brand new state of the art ground – a move which could bring millions of pounds to the club over the next few seasons.

It is understood by Gold that Levy is searching for an offer in keeping with the some of the world’s record deals as he pours cold water on reports claiming Tottenham are looking for a £250m package.

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be on the hunt for a new central defensive leader for their back four this summer, according to the ever-reliable Alasdair Gold at football.london.

It’s claimed that there has been a ‘clear lack of cohesion’ and ‘leadership’ in the backline this season, even despite Spurs holding the accolade of having the third-best defensive record in the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho has frequently chopped and changed his central options, currently, Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon are the flavours of the month but it is Eric Dier, who has been snubbed from six straight league games, that has started the most matches (21) in the role this term.

Whilst there are increasing doubts over the future of vastly experienced Toby Alderweireld amid reports he could return to his home country, Belgium.

It’s no wonder that a new option in defence is the top priority in the upcoming transfer window, and as such, the north Londoners have been linked to an array of names, including former target Milan Skriniar, who was close to joining last summer.

As Gold outlines in his article, Spurs came close but in the end, a £12m difference in valuation stopped them from securing the Inter Milan beast. His price tag will have only increased substantially as Antonio Conte’s side find themselves leading the Serie A, and the Slovakian has been crucial at the back.

Italian transfer guru Fabirizo Romano believes Inter would now want in the region of £63m to £68m, and that’s just not something Spurs will be able to afford unless they offload several key players.

Fellow Serie A monster Nikola Milenkovic is another on their radar, whilst Gold also mentions Brighton veteran Lewis Dunk and Fulham loan sensation Joachim Andersen.

But following the successful signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Levy would be smart to raid Southampton once again this summer as Jannik Vestergaard is a viable and far cheaper alternative.

According to the Daily Express, Spurs are to step up interest in the Saints star as he’d only cost around £18m.

In comparison to Skriniar, the Danish man-mountain has the benefit of Premier League experience, and that seems like it would be a better immediate fix right now than having to wait for a foreign player to adapt to new surroundings.

Indeed, Vestergaard has racked up 64 appearances in the English top-flight, and a total of 70 for the Saints, as per Transfermarkt. In addition, he’s been capped 21 times by Denmark.

Despite James Ward-Prowse taking the armband from Hojbjerg at the end of last season, the 6 foot 6 colossus is regarded as one of Ralph Hassenhuttl’s key influences.

Speaking to HampshireLive, the Saints boss claimed: “I think he feels at the moment like a real leader on the pitch. When he performs well and shows the form that he has shown since the summer break, since then he has been physically strong, he is definitely one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.”

In addition to his clear aerial ability (3.6 duels won per game) and strength (as evident above), Vestergaard is able to dictate play from the back, a key factor towards why he could well be best-suited for the role Spurs are so desperate for this summer.

The £16.2m-rated defender’s average passing accuracy of 83.7%, despite playing more long balls than any other outfield player (3.6), is enough to rank him alongside some of their best midfielders and even above the likes of Oriol Romeu and Stuart Armstrong, via WhoScored.

Of course, a perfect case can be made for Skriniar, but given Vestergaard’s experience, form in the Premier League, and price tag, there should only be one answer to who Spurs should sign.

Simply put, Levy must sanction another snatch-and-grab on Southampton this summer.

وتحدث منجقيثي عن وجهة نظره خلال حواره الذي نقلته شبكة “IOL” الجنوب إفريقية، وقال: “نحن سعداء كمدربين في جنوب إفريقيا بوجود أحد سفرائنا الذي يمثلنا في كأس العالم للأندية 2021، فهو يثبت ويظهر للعالم ما هو قادر عليه”.

وتابع: “بصراحة، لقد خُدع موسيماني من قبل الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم بعدم حصوله على جائزة مدرب العام، إذا كنت تفكر في عدد الألقاب القارية التي فاز بها في عام واحد، ولكن ربما لأنه إفريقي، فهو لا يحصل على التقدير الذي يستحقه”.

وأضاف: “من الصعب للغاية أن يفوز شخص واحد ببطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا وكأس السوبر الإفريقي مرتين في عام واحد، ومع ذلك لم يتم اختياره كمدرب العام، لكن علينا احترام هذه القرارات لأننا نحن الأفارقة متواضعون ولسنا متعجرفين”.

وواصل تصريحاته: “لكن في حقيقة الأمر، إذا نظرنا إلى كل ما حققه، كان ينبغي أن يكون هو الشخص الذي يحصل على تلك الجائزة، لكن ربما حصل الآن على فرصة أخرى للمشاركة في كأس العالم للأندية، ويمكنه إثبات مدى قدراته مع الأهلي وما يمكن تقديمه”.

Kevin Campbell has claimed that Adam Armstrong would be a good signing for West Ham United as a back-up striker to Michail Antonio.

Football Insider have recently revealed that Everton have set their sights on signing the Blackburn Rovers star, a player who the Hammers also have their eye on, according to the East London club insiders Claret and Hugh.

Speaking to Football Insider, Campbell thinks that Armstrong would offer something different to Antonio and would be a sufficient back-up to the former Nottingham Forest ace given the problems that he has had with injuries:

“Antonio has been a warrior for West Ham but when you play at the top end of that pitch you take the buffeting.

“All the rough stuff happens to you. It wears on the body and he’s been really unfortunate with injury.

“Antonio is always going to be the main man but they need another quality striker that can step in when he’s injured.

“Armstrong would be a quality addition and he would offer something different to Antonio.”

West Ham should sign Armstrong

David Moyes’ team certainly need to sign a forward in the summer transfer window as cover for Antonio, and Armstrong would definitely fit the bill.

The former Newcastle United man has scored no fewer than 20 times and supplied a further three assists in 37 matches in total across all competitions so far in the 2020/21 season (Transfermarkt), highlighting that he clearly knows where the goal is.

The 24-year-old also has the added weapon of ‘explosive pace’ as his boss Tony Mowbray pointed out in November, and so the Irons would not lose the kind of explosiveness that Antonio offers if Armstrong is playing instead of him.

Nonetheless, the Englishman could be an ideal signing for WHUFC in the summer.

وأضاف: “أحد هؤلاء هو صفقة ليفربول الجديدة والذي وقع للتو معهم وهو لويس دياز، كانت لدينا فرصة للتعاقد معه قبل أن ينضم إلى بورتو، كنا نتفاوض من أجل ضمه ولكن تأخرنا لمدة يوم أو يومين، لأننا كنا نفاضل بينه وبين بعض اللاعبين الآخرين”.

وأتم تصريحاته: “حتى فينيسيوس مع ريال مدريد، كان من بين هؤلاء اللاعبين الذين نتابعهم للتعاقد معهم، تابعناه في كأس البرازيل وكنا نحاول مطاردته ولكننا تراخينا قليلًا ثم وقع مع ريال مدريد”.

وانتقل دياز إلى بورتو في عام 2019 قادمًا من نادي أتلتيكو جونيور في كولومبيا، وفي تلك الفترة كان مدرب صن داونز هو، بيتسو موسيماني، الذي يقود النادي الأهلي حاليًا.

Leeds United are interested in signing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara this summer, but other Premier League clubs are also keen.

The 10-man Whites picked up a famous victory on Saturday, winning 2-1 away to Manchester City in the dying seconds thanks to Stuart Dallas’ double. It was a win which took Marcelo Bielsa’s side ninth in the table at the time, with other results meaning they have since slipped to 10th.

Leeds linked with Kamara move

According to the Daily Mail, Rangers are ‘fighting’ to keep hold of Kamara, with a number of suitors keen on acquiring his signature.

Leeds’ interest is confirmed in the report, while Brighton, Southampton, Burnley and Watford are also mentioned as being interested in the midfielder who has been described as having a “fantastic attitude” by Steven Gerrard, his manager at Ibrox.

Making the step up from the Scottish Premiership to the Premier League isn’t always easy, but Kamara looks a formidable player, with 27 caps to his name for Finland, not to mention being a key man in Rangers’ title-winning season.

A profile on Kamara by The Athletic wrote that he would ‘fit the mould of the sort of midfielder’ that the then-Gunners manager would have been seeking.

The 25-year-old could add depth to the Leeds midfield, bringing the same defensive nous that Kalvin Phillips offers in front of the back-line, averaging one tackle and 0.9 interceptions per game in the Premiership this season.
