West Ham fans have been weighing in on a report from Football Insider which claims that James Tarkowski would ‘jump at the chance’ to sign for the London-based club this summer. 

The Hammers went to great lengths to try and sign the Burnley centre-back in the 2020 summer window.

They tabled three bids for the Englishman, the last of which was £31million, but that still fell short of the Clarets’ asking price.

Now, however, Tarkowski only has just over a year remaining on his Burnley contract, placing the club under pressure.

They know that if he refuses to sign an extension, that he could walk away on a free transfer in 2022.

Tarkowski an option for West Ham once again

David Moyes’ side are said to have renewed their interest in signing Tarkowski, having identified a top centre-half as a priority.

Another potential option for the Irons is Marseille’s Duje Caleta-Car, currently on Euro 2020 duty with Croatia.

أعلن المدرب الألماني رالف رانجنيك، المدير الفني المؤقت لنادي مانشستر يونايتد، موقف الدولي البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو، مهاجم الفريق، من اللعب في مباراة الغد أمام إيفرتون بالدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

وواصل: “غدًا سيكون في انتظارنا مباراة مهمة، نحن ندخل الجزء الأهم من الموسم، علينا الالتزام بالشخصية والطاقة، والفوز بالمباراة في الأجواء التي من المحتمل أن تكون مشابهة جدًا لتلك الموجودة في ليدز”.

وتابع: “نحن جميعًا نُدرك أهمية المباراة لكلا الفريقين، بالنسبة لي، فإن خطة المباراة وتكتيكاتها هي شيء واحد ليوم غد، ولكن ربما يكون الشيء الأكثر أهمية هو العقلية والسلوك “.

وأكمل: “الانتصار غدًا يتعلق بنوع اللاعبين المتاحين لدينا.. كما تعلم لدينا عدد غير قليل من المهاجمين المفقودين في الأسبوعين والأشهر الماضية، في الأسبوعين الأولين لي هُنا، ركزنا على أن نكون أكثر استقرارًا من الناحية الدفاعية وعدم قبول العديد من الأهداف، وهو ما فعلناه”.

وأردف: “لم أتفاجأ من اتساق الفريق، كنت أعرف ذلك منذ البداية عندما ترى العملية برمتها خلال الأشهر الأربعة ونصف الماضية، أعتقد أننا طورنا الفريق في بعض المجالات ولكن كما قلت، الأمر كله يتعلق بأن تكون متسقًا، هذا ما يجب أن نبدأ به، علينا أن نبدأ غدًا بأفضل أداء ممكن”.

وحول إمكانية تأهل مانشستر يونايتد إلى دوري أبطال أوروبا في الموسم المُقبل: “أرى أنه لا يزال لدينا فرصة، ولكن من أجل القيام بذلك نحن بحاجة للفوز”.

وأتم: “يجب علينا أن نفوز في المباراة القادمة، ومن ثم يمكننا التحدث عن المباريات الأخرى، إذا نظرت إلى الوضع الحالي في الجدول، لا يُمكننا تحمل خسارة النقاط بعد الآن وأعتقد أن الجميع في الفريق على علم بذلك “.

People forget all of the preparation that has been done. We’ve done all of the hard work to get the young side that we have now – we’re not quite there yet – but can look forward to being one of the top four sides in the country.”How about his own performances I asked. “I’m still improving as a batsman, I’m getting smarter. Physically I’m deteriorating, but just how fast depends on working hard at my fitness.I hope that I can hold back the years by keeping fit and at the moment I feel very fit. I know that I can bat, but it’s all the other bits, running and the athleticism. I’m working very hard at it,”he told me.At the age of thirty eight, how much longer did he see himself continuing in first class cricket. “I don’t even think about stopping playing at the moment. The Lowdown: Gers prepare for new campaign

The Gers enjoyed a fantastic campaign last term, winning the Premiership for the first time in 10 years without losing a single game in the competition (thefishy.co.uk). That success also saw them earn a place in the Champions League third qualifying round.

As such, Steven Gerrard and co will need to prepare their squad for a big upcoming season, and that will no doubt include new arrivals to bolster the depth at the manager’s disposal.

The Latest: Gers eye Santos Borre

Now, it has been reported from an Ibrox source that the Gers have a concrete interest in signing Santos Borre this summer.

The 25-year-old’s contract at River will run out at the end of this month, meaning he could be signed on a free transfer despite his club valuing him at £15m.

The Light Blues are just one of a number clubs in pursuit of the Colombia international.

The Verdict: Top target

Signing Santos Borre would be a real signal of intent from the 55-time Scottish champions.

He is valued at £15.3m (Transfermarkt), higher than any player currently in the Rangers squad, and he has managed a healthy 74 goals in 212 games throughout his club career. 56 of those have come in 149 for his current outfit, and his profile has even been compared to that of Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez (onefootball.com).

He has also been successful at the highest level, winning both the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana. As the report says, there will be a big battle to sign the forward, but if the Gers can take him to Ibrox, he could prove to be a very astute signing considering the finances involved.

During the back end of last season, influential winger Pedro Neto fractured his Patella during the club’s 1-0 win against Fulham, and Wolves legend Steve Bull fears the winger may not get back to his best form for another two years, comparing him to teammate Jonny Castro who suffered a big setback after his own serious injury.

It would be a massive blow for new manager Bruno Lage as Neto finished last season with the most goals and assists for Wolves as they limped to a poor 13th place finish in the Premier League, compared to previous successive top-half finishes.

Neto was often the most consistent winger for Wolves with both Adama Traore and Daniel Podence failing to perform on a regular basis despite showing their talents in flashes, which saw Neto linked with a big-money move to Manchester United because of his consistent performances.

It was widely expected that Neto would spend a long amount of time out of the Wolves side, but Bull believes that the winger may not be able to get back to his performances pre-injury for another two years, something he spoke exclusively to Football FanCast about:

“First and foremost, we’ve got to get Pedro Neto back and fully fit because it’s going to take longer than what you’d think with that sort of injury. Jonny had his and came back too quick and he’s been out for more or less two years. Pedro’s not long had his operation.”

Neto was able to receive the ball and effortlessly glide past defenders which he did 60.7% of the time as he dribbled past 79 players, the second most for Wolves, only behind Traore whose game is all about getting to the byline and past players.

Lage will know it’s a problem he must overcome in pre-season to figure out how to play without Neto and if he is not going to be on top of his game for two years, then he could think to bring in a new winger if there is no guarantee that Neto will come back the same player.

ليفاندوفسكي يرغب في الرحيل عن “أليانز أرينا” بالصيف القادم، حيث يأمل صاحب الـ33 عامًا في خوض تحدٍ جديد قبل نهاية مسيرته.
