وجهت صحيفة “ديلي ستار” البريطانية، تساؤلًا، حول البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو، نجم هجوم مانشستر يونايتد، بعد عودته إلى تدريبات الشياطين الحمُر، بعد ثلاثة أسابيع من الغياب.

رونالدو شوهد، ظهر السبت في تدريبات مانشستر يونايتد، حيث ظهر البرتغالي بجانب حنبعل المجبري ولاعبي يونايتد الشباب.

وقالت الصحفية في تقرير لها عن عودة رونالدو إلى التدريبات: “كريستيانو يظهر لأول مرة في مانشستر يونايتد بعد أنباء رحيله”.

رونالدو وجه نقدًا لاذعًا لوسائل الإعلام الإنجليزية، حيث نفى خبر زعم فيه أنه يُصر على الرحيل عن مانشستر يونايتد وتحدث ساخرًا: “استمروا في الحديث عني، يومًا ما سوف تحصلون على بعض الأخبار بشكل صحيح”.

Talks between the IPL and Sony, aimed at reaching an out-of-court settlement after the league terminated its contract with Sony last week, have failed. The matter is currently being heard by Bombay High Court but it is likely the BCCI’s Twenty20 league will have a new broadcaster from this season.Lalit Modi, the IPL chairman, told Cricinfo the talks failed because Multi Screen Media Pvt Ltd (MSM), which holds the IPL contract under the Sony umbrella, wanted a non-terminable contract, which the BCCI/IPL refused to provide. “We had agreed on various commercial terms but if we agree to a non-terminable contract we cannot terminate the arrangement even in case of a serious breach,” Modi said. “No one can accept that.” Rohit Gupta, president of network sales at Multi Screen Media Pvt Ltd, refused to comment on the development.Apparently, MSM was prepared to compensate the IPL for further violations of contract, if any, but the league did not agree.Sony had leased the IPL’s subcontinent broadcast rights last year from WSG (India), who had won an original ten-year bid for US $1.02 billion. But the IPL terminated Sony’s contract on Saturday night after claiming the broadcaster had repeatedly violated the integrity of telecast by prematurely cutting to breaks and inserting commercials during a live match, replays and other on-field action. Early on Sunday morning, the league signed a fresh telecast contract with WSG (Mauritius) even as Sony appealed against the termination order to Bombay High Court which issued a freeze on any such arrangement till the dispute was resolved. The court will determine if the IPL’s decision to terminate Sony’s contract is legitimate.However, the BCCI/IPL continues to maintain that the new deal with WSG-Mauritius is still valid as it was signed before they received the freeze order issued by the court.The IPL’s relationship with Sony had turned rocky last month after the IPL lost out on a US $31.16 million deal because of a dispute between Sony and Big TV, a direct-to-home provider. In February 2009, the ICC removed the tournament from Pakistan because of safety concerns and said that Sri Lanka, which was the reserve venue, would be the host. However, in March, the ICC’s chief executives committee recommended that the Champions Trophy be shifted to South Africa following concerns over weather conditions in Sri Lanka in September.

According to Defensa Central, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele wants to leave Spurs and make the move to Real Madrid.

The Lowdown: Ndombele struggling

The 24-year-old is Tottenham’s record signing, having been purchased for £53.8m in 2019 (BBC), but he has so far failed to hit the heights many might have expected.

Former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho was a major critic, questioning his commitment and fitness (Canal Plus, via Metro), and he has only shown his ability in flashes.

As per this latest report from Defensa Central, Ndombele is eager to leave Tottenham and make the move to Spain and Real Madrid.

The Verdict: Cut their losses

The France international has made 80 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists (Transfermarkt). Mourinho did actually call him “magnificent” earlier this year (via Daily Mail), but that was one of the rare times he praised him rather than issued criticism.

Aged just 24 and with a market value of £40.5m (Transfermarkt), Ndombele is still an asset to Tottenham, and if Real Madrid were interested, they would surely be made to pay a relatively high price. It is up to Daniel Levy whether he wants to give up on his record signing after little more than two years, but it may be worth the Lilywhites cutting their losses with the player given his inconsistent nature during his time in north London.

وجه محمود الخطيب رئيس مجلس إدارة النادي الأهلي، رسالة ومطالب للاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم، مؤكدًا ضرورة تطوير منظومة التحكيم والبدء في ثورة التصحيح.

وقال الخطيب في تصريحات تلفزيونية لفضائية “الأهلي”: “من واقع مسؤولية اتحاد الكرة، التطوير والأهلي جزء من الجمعية العمومية في الكرة المصرية، لذلك لنا الحق في أن نوجه أسئلة، أريد أن أقف على آخر 3 سنوات، لاحظنا بعض الأمور غير المفهومة وأصبحت طبيعية ولا يتم محاسبة أحد”.

وأضاف: “من هذه الأمور رسوم القيد، هناك أندية تدفع الأموال ويتبقى عليها أموال بسيطة، ولكن أندية أخرى يكون عليها أموال كثيرة، لكن يجب أن يكون هناك عدالة ووضع وقت لتسديد الأموال المستحقة للاتحاد، أمر آخر هو ضغط الأهلي الذي يُمثل مصر في البطولة الإفريقية، هل هذا عقاب”.

وكشف: “سمعت مسؤول عبر التلفاز قال نحن وصل لنا خطاب بحرمان القيد ولكن نجحنا في التكتم عليه، وعندما صرح بهذا الأمر لم يُعلق أحد عليه”.

وأردف: “أرسلنا خطابات كثيرة بسبب التحكيم وطالبت بالعدل وتطوير التحكيم، وكان الرد أن الأمور سوف سيتم تعديلها، وهذا مجرد كلام، ولم نجد رد فعل، لذلك اتخذنا القرارات بعد أن أخذنا الطرق القانونية ولم نخرج ونتحدث كل يوم (ونخبط في الناس) لذلك يجب أن يتم تقدير الأهلي”.

وتابع: “وزارة الشباب والرياضة بعد أن حققت مع اتحاد الكرة بعد أزمة نهائي إفريقيا، أكدت أن اتحاد الكرة مُخطئ، وبالرغم من ذلك لم يحاسبه أحد حتى الآن، على الجانب الآخر الاتحاد الإفريقي أشكرهم جدًا لأن بعد المؤتمر الذي عقدته وتحدثت عن الأمور الكثيرة، موتسيبي أكد أنه يُقدر ضيق رئيس الأهلي ومجلس الإدارة والجماهير، ولكن نحن لم يصلنا إلا ملف استضافة واحد من المغرب، وأيضًا قلنا مقترحات وتم الأخذ بها، بالإضافة إلى محاولة أن تكون الجوائز المالية أكبر”. 

واختتم: “ولذلك رأيت أنه من واجبنا أن نطلب مطالب جديدة، مطلوب من اتحاد الكرة الإعلان بكل شفافية عن كل الخطابات الموجهة للأندية، وتطوير منظومة التحكيم ومحاسبة واضحة للمخطئ، وتنظيم مواعيد المباريات المحلية، تطبيق القوانين واللوائح على الجميع بدون استثناءات، اتحاد الكرة عليه أن يبدأ ثورة تصحيح الأخطاء”.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay has revealed that Leeds United defender Junior Firpo has suffered an injury blow and is expected to be out for a “couple of weeks”.

What’s the story?

Marcelo Bielsa’s side signed the left-back from Spanish giants Barcelona in the summer, and he’s been thrust straight into the action in the Premier League, playing six out of the first six games and completing the full 90 minutes in the past four before this weekend.

Firpo was missing from the match-day squad against Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton, and Hay has now delivered yet more bad news on the injury front for Bielsa and Leeds.

He said: “Firpo has a muscular problem. Expected to be out for a couple of weeks.”

Bielsa will be devastated

While Firpo may not have been a regular starter at the Camp Nou last season – he played just 18 times in all competitions – he is the kind of attacking left-back who seems to be a perfect fit for Bielsa’s Leeds.

In his real breakthrough season with Real Betis during the 2018/2019 campaign, Firpo managed three goals and four assists in La Liga, as well as averaging 0.8 shots, 0.8 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per game.

The fact he’s had a difficult start to life at Leeds, at a time where the team as a whole has been struggling it should be said, should not disguise the fact that he will take some time to settle in.

Perhaps more than any club in the Premier League, adjusting to things at Elland Road with Bielsa’s notoriously intense tactics and famed pressing is arguably the most difficult.

But aside from being without someone who could provide such an attacking outlet down the left-flank, Firpo’s injury is yet another to add to the list of growing issues for Bielsa on that front.

He’s already seen a number of first-team players fall prey to illness, injury and even the dreaded fatigue of the international break – something that saw Raphinha rushed back to England after playing for Brazil but then not even playing on Saturday.

Bielsa would have been desperately hoping for some respite with injuries, but instead, he’s got another to contend with. He’s sure to be devastated.
