Leeds United have again been linked with a move for Cagliari and Uruguay midfielder Nahitan Nandez, as the Whites eye up a potential January transfer.

The Lowdown: Nandez a constant target

The 25-year-old was linked with a move to Elland Road during the summer transfer window, as Marcelo Bielsa looked at players to bolster his midfield. Reports even went so far as to reveal Victor Orta had flown out to Sardinia to chase a deal.

Nandez ended up remaining at Calgiari, however, where he was again been an influential figure, making 15 starts in Serie A and registering two assists.

With Kalvin Phillips out injured for the foreseeable future, it is paramount that a midfield replacement is signed next month and it looks as though Leeds are pushing hard for the Uruguay international.

According to FCInterNews [via Sport Witness], the Whites have again identified Nandez as a target after the injury to Phillips, ‘returning to the office’ with another attempt to acquire his signature.

It is stated that the midfielder has been ‘promised’ to Inter Milan, however, potentially acting as a big blow to Leeds.

The Verdict: Perfect January addition

Nandez’s quality is plain to seen, with his expertise from a defensive midfield seeing him shine for both Cagliari and Uruguay, so he would be a superb addition at Leeds.

He is strong in both his on and off-the-ball work, with an average of 1.5 dribbles per game in the league this season nicely complemented by 2.4 aerial duel wins and 2.0 tackles, with his defensive contribution the biggest strength to his game.

The fact that a Champions League outfit in the shape of Inter appear to be in the race is a concern, though, and if Leeds do miss out on their man, it is vital that someone else of a similar calibre comes in and solves Bielsa’s midfield issue.

A partida começou equilibrada, com as duas equipes muito bem postadas em campo. O Cruz-Maltino adiantou as linhas e dificultava a saída de bola do Tricolor paulista, que por sua vez estava bem compactado e não dava espaços.
Empurrado por seus torcedores em casa, o Vasco passou a se lançar mais no ataque. Porém, apesar de ter a bola, pouco ameaçava o gol de Sidão.

Depois da parada técnica para hidratação, o jogo melhorou. Nenê bateu falta com categoria da entrada da área e quase abriu o placar. Na sequência, o São Paulo assustou em contra-ataque e fez sua primeira finalização do jogo, aos 34 minutos.

Maicosuel partiu pela esquerda e bateu com perigo para fora.O gol tricolor saiu logo depois. Aos 39 minutos, Jean vacilou e foi desarmado por Marcos Guilherme na frente da área. O meia-atacante avançou e emendou um chutaço de fora, que Gabriel Felix não conseguiu defender.

Atrás no placar, o Cruz-Maltino se lançou ao ataque e ainda ameaçou em cabeçadas de Gilberto e Madson, mas foi para o intervalo perdendo.

Zé Ricardo voltou para o segundo tempo com Evander no lugar de Gilberto, deixando o Vasco mais ofensivo e melhor na partida. O jovem meia assustou Sidão em cobrança de falta. Paulinho e Andrés Rios também tiveram chances, mas mandaram para fora.

O São Paulo se fechava para sair no contra-ataque, mas não conseguia encaixar. Enquanto isso, Sidão garantia atrás, como em boa defesa em chute de Caio Monteiro.De tanto pressionar, o Cruz-Maltino chegou ao empate aos 30 minutos. Andrés Rios chutou, a bola desviou em Rodrigo Caio e sobrou para Caio Monteiro estufar a rede.

O Vasco ainda teve algumas chances, mas não aproveitou algumas e em outras parou em grandes defesas de Sidão.

أكد أحمد عبد القادر، لاعب الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بالنادي الأهلي جاهزية المارد الأحمر لمواجهة الاتحاد المنستيري التونسي، في مستهل مشوار الفريق في دوري أبطال إفريقيا، لافتًا إلى أن الفريق لن يفرط في فرصة المنافسة على كل الألقاب في الموسم الجديد.

وتحدث عبد القادر عن مواجهة الاتحاد المنستيري التونسي، مشددًا على أن جميع المباريات صعبة، والمنافس يملك دوافع كبيرة وحقق نتائج طيبة في الدوري التونسي، والأهلي يكن له كل التقدير كما يفعل مع جميع المنافسين، خاصة أن بطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا تمثل أهمية كبيرة للجهاز الفني واللاعبين، والفريق يسعى لتحقيق ضربة بداية مميزة لمصالحة الجماهير وتعويضهم عن الموسم الماضي.

وأشار لاعب الأهلي إلى أن بطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا لها مكانة كبيرة لدى جماهير النادي، والفوز باللقب مرتين على التوالي، ثم التواجد في النهائي للمرة الثالثة والخسارة في ظروف خاصة يعكس شخصية اللاعبين وإصرارهم على التواجد في منصات التتويج.

وأضاف عبد القادر أن المدير الفني لفريق الاتحاد المنستيري سبق له مواجهة الأهلي في الموسم الماضي عندما كان مديرًا فنيًّا لوفاق سطيف الجزائري، ويعرف جيدًا قدرات الأهلي، وتصريحاته عن الفريق تضع مسئولية كبيرة على الجميع، ولا بد من احترام المنافس والعمل على تحقيق الفوز للوصول إلى الدور التالي من البطولة، لافتًا إلى أن الأهلي يعيش حالة من التركيز الشديد في البطولة.

وأردف: “الموسم الجديد صعب على كافة المستويات، وقد عقدنا أكثر من جلسة خلال الفترة الماضية أكدنا خلالها ضرورة بذل كل ما يمكن للفوز بكل البطولات، بعد الراحة التي حصل عليها اللاعبون وعودة المصابين، وهو ما سيصنع فارقًا كبيرًا في أداء الجميع، ومن المهم جدًا لنا أن نقدم انطباعًا جيدًا في بداية الموسم وهو ما نعمل عليه”.

وتحدث عبد القادر عن فترة الإعداد، مؤكدًا أن الجهاز الفني للأهلي قام بوضع وتنفيذ برنامج بدني شاق للغاية، والجميع داخل الفريق على يقين بأهمية التعب والجهد لإكمال الموسم في أفضل حالة بدنية، والمباريات الودية كانت إيجابية للغاية، واستفاد منها الفريق بشكل كبير ووصل إلى مرحلة مهمة من الجاهزية بعد التعافي من الإجهاد والإصابات التي لاحقت العديد من اللاعبين خلال الموسم المنقضي.

وعن البرازيلي برونو سافيو، المُنضم إلى صفوف الفريق خلال فترة الانتقالات الصيفية الجارية، قال عبد القادر إنه لاعب مهم ويملك قدرات مميزة تجعله إضافة حقيقية للفريق، خاصة أنه بدأ ينسجم داخل الفريق بشكل سريع، وتمنى له التوفيق في مشواره مع الأهلي، لافتًا إلى أنه يستشير محمد الشناوي وعمرو السولية في كل أموره.

West Ham United progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon as they beat fellow Premier League outfit Leeds United 2-0 at the London Stadium.

Manuel Lanzini gave the Hammers, who host the Yorkshire club again next Sunday, the lead just after the half-an-hour mark before Jarrod Bowen secured the East London club’s place in the next round in added time.

However, despite Lanzini and Bowen being the players on the score sheet, another attacking midfielder impressed for David Moyes’ side: Nikola Vlasic.

According to SofaScore, the Croatian enjoyed a 91% passing accuracy against Marcelo Bielsa’s side as well as making three key passes.

Furthermore, the 24-year-old completed 80% of his dribbles and only lost possession on seven occasions whilst making 56 touches.

The attacking midfielder has endured mixed fortunes since returning to the Premier League from CSKA Moscow, having been at Everton previously.

Vlasic has only managed nine Premier League appearances this term, starting two games in the top-flight.

However, the Croatian has been of great use in other competitions, with the Hammers new to balancing four competitions, making a combined nine appearances in the Europa League, EFL Cup and FA Cup.

Moreover, the attacking midfielder is starting to find form in East London, scoring his first goal for the Hammers against Watford at the end of December as well as impressing in West Ham’s cup success over the Whites.

With fellow attacking midfielder Said Benrahma set to be absent over the coming weeks whilst with his native Algeria side at the Africa Cup of Nations, Vlasic has the opportunity to impress Moyes and put together a run of games in the top-flight.

Prior to the Leeds game, the Scotsman said to West Ham’s official website: “Niksi [Vlasic] will have opportunities and we’re trying to break him in.

“He’s beginning to show some good signs so let’s hope he can step up when he gets the opportunity. I do see opportunities for him with Saïd away.”

Furthermore, the £25m signing was labelled as “versatile” upon him signing for West Ham in September by former Hammers assistant Nikola Jurcevic and could start to justify that transfer fee in the coming weeks.

أعرب تشافي هيرنانديز عن قلقه من أداء فريقه برشلونة في شوط المباراة الثاني أمام سيلتا فيجو، مؤكدًا أنه لا يمكن اللعب بهذا المستوى في المباراة المهمة أمام إنتر ميلان بدوري أبطال أوروبا.

وتغلب برشلونة على سيلتا فيجو بهدف دون رد في منافسات الليجا، وسيلاقي إنتر ميلان يوم الأربعاء المقبل، ثم يواجه ريال مدريد في كلاسيكو الليجا. 

وقال تشافي في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية: “علينا أن نتحسن، الشوط الأول كان جيدًا، كان علينا أن نسجل هدفًا ثانيًا ونقتل المباراة على هذا النحو، نحن لا نبحث عن أعذار، لا نحب الأعذار، ما حدث في الشوط الثاني غير مقبول، لا أعذار، من الواضح أننا لسنا في أفضل الأوقات كما كنا قبل أسبوعين أو ثلاثة أسابيع”.

وأضاف: “2-0 كان سيغير كل شيء، الفوز ليس بالأمر السهل، نفسيًا لقد سقطنا وينتهي بك الأمر بفرصتين أو 3 فرص واضحة أمامك، انتصار ذهبي، لكن عليك أن تبدو مثل النصف ساعة الأولى”.

Tasmania successfully defended their 261 as they gained a 28-run first-innings lead and extended their advantage over Western Australia to 59 after two days. Steve Magoffin started the day on a high for the Warriors with a six-wicket haul, but there was no help from the batsmen as they were dismissed for 233.The opener Liam Davis tried hard to keep the innings together with 67, but the Tasmania bowlers kept chipping away and were rewarded with two points and a jump over their opponents into fourth spot. Western Australia’s chase was going well at 2 for 110, but Michael Swart and Mitchell Marsh went in four overs and they were 7 for 157 after Davis, Luke Ronchi and Nathan Coulter-Nile departed in quick succession.Luke Pomersbach was left to hold on and his 32 was supported by Magoffin’s 20, but they both left with too much work to do, even with Michael Hogan’s late blast of 24 off ten balls, including three sixes. The wickets were shared around, with Adam Griffith, Brendan Drew, Tim Macdonald and Xavier Doherty earning two apiece.Tasmania had to face 18 overs before stumps and lost Rhett Lockyear for 18 on the way to 1 for 31.
