تلقى إريك تين هاج، المدير الفني لفريق مانشستر يونايتد، ضربة موجعة بإصابة جديدة في صفوف فريقه قبل مواجهة نوتينجهام.

ويلتقي مانشستر يونايتد مع نوتينجهام غدًا السبت، ضمن منافسات الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز لموسم 2023-2024.

ووفقًا لصحيفة “ديلي ميل” البريطانية، تعرض الظهير الأيسر لفريق مانشستر يونايتد، لوك شاو، لإصابة عضلية ستبعده عن الملاعب لعدة أسابيع.

وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن مانشستر يونايتد أوضح أن لوك شاو لا يزال قيد التقييم.

ولا تعد تلك الإصابة الأولى في صفوف مانشستر يونايتد، حيث أن ماسون ماونت سيغيب عن الملاعب لمدة تصل إلى ستة أسابيع بسبب إصابة في أوتار الركبة تعرض لها في المباراة أمام توتنهام الأسبوع الماضي.

Shane Watson has been appointed captain of Rajasthan Royals for the 2014 edition of the IPL. Watson will take over from Rahul Dravid, who retired from all forms of cricket after leading Royals to the Champions League T20 final in October 2013. Dravid formed one-third of the core group that settled on the decision, along with head coach Paddy Upton and Royals CEO Raghu Iyer.Watson has been with Royals from the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008, and was one of the five players retained by the franchise for this year’s tournament. He has represented them in 61 matches, the second-most after Siddharth Trivedi. He has scored 1887 runs for his franchise at an average of 38.51 and a strike-rate of 143.82, and has also taken 54 wickets at an economy-rate of 7.27. Watson was instrumental in Royals’ title win in 2008 and was named Player of the Tournament for his 472 runs and 17 wickets.”I am honoured to lead the Rajasthan Royals, an extraordinary team which has always given me amazing opportunities,” Watson said. “My aim will be to continue playing our best cricket and maintain the winning momentum. We all want to repeat the 2008 IPL success and last season, we were quite close to that. واختتم: “مش فاهم ليه مستكترين على أي حد غيرهم إنه يبقى كويس ويبقى عنده دوري قوي، العالم كله بيتفرج عليه”.

Canterbury were put on the backfoot right at the start as their top order was rocked by quick bowler Kuggeleijn, who is comfortably the leading wicket-taker in the tournament. Canterbury were down to 82 for 5 before half-centuries from Peter Fulton and Andrew Ellis lifted them towards a competitive score.Northern Districts’ chase began solidly as their openers put on 63 before Brad Wilson fell for 33. His partner Daniel Flynn top scored with 73 and there were 30s from Daryl Mitchell and Mitchell Santner as well, but two wickets in the space of four balls left Northern Districts needing 20 off 15 deliveries. It didn’t even go to the final over, though, as Kuggeleijn smashed a six and a four in an eight-ball 16.The defeat doesn’t knock out Canterbury, though, and leaves them facing Wellington in a battle for a place in the final against Northern Districts.

The ECB has awarded 18 players from the England Women’s Performance Programme new contracts and hailed a move into a new professional era for the women’s game.The increased support for the higher echelons of women’s cricket has been made possible by England’s success in gaining a greater share of revenue from the world game.Confirmation of the new payments follows the decision by the ECB Board in February to invest in the women’s game to record levels, with all 18 players now set to benefit from the improved financial arrangements.The ECB’s head of England women’s cricket, Clare Connor, said: “The performances delivered by Charlotte Edwards and her team over the past 12 months, including back-to-back Women’s Ashes triumphs, a historic series win in the West Indies in November, and reaching the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 final in Bangladesh, unequivocally justify the financial reward which comes with the new England women’s contracts.”The pay increase for the contracted players is significant and signals the dawning of a fully professional era in every sense for England women’s cricket. I am grateful to the ECB Board for the ongoing support they provide towards the development of the women’s game in this country.”Paul Downton, Managing Director England Cricket, added: “The England women’s team always prepare to excellent standards, and have been professional cricketers in all but name for a while now.”International women’s cricket has developed at a fast pace over the last few years and is now a year-round operation.
