O São Paulo inscreveu o atacante Paulinho Boia na vaga de Antony para os dois últimos jogos da primeira fase do Paulistão, que recomeça para o clube na quinta-feira, às 20h, contra o Red Bull Bragantino, no Morumbi. Essa era a única vaga disponível na lista A, já que a Federação Paulista só permite que sejam substituídos atletas que não têm mais contrato.

Como o LANCE! mostrou, Paulinho Boia tem sido testado frequentemente como reserva imediato de Pablo, que herdou a vaga de Antony na equipe titular. Reintegrado após empréstimos a Portimonense e São Bento, ele hoje está à frente de Gonzalo Carneiro na preferência de Fernando Diniz.

O uruguaio, de volta à rotina após cumprir um ano de suspensão por uso de doping, não foi inscrito para esta primeira fase, mas tem boas chances de ser incluído nos mata-matas, quando são permitidas quatro alterações.

O mais provável é que ele entre na vaga de Galeano, atacante paraguaio que disputou a Copinha deste ano e não faz parte do elenco principal. Ele está na lista A porque, apesar de ter idade, não tem o tempo de clube necessário para integrar a lista da base.

Já Paulinho Boia, embora revelado em Cotia, não foi colocado na lista da base, e sim na principal, por não ter a idade necessária. Ele nasceu em 1998, sendo que o regulamento permite apenas atletas nascidos de 1999 em diante nesta relação, que não tem limite de jogadores.

A luta para o futebol brasileiro recolher seus cacos não deve ficar restrita às consequências econômicas causadas pelo novo coronavírus. O senador Rodrigo Pacheco (DEM-MG) reconhece que o planejamento para esta temporada exigirá fortes desafios para quem está envolvido com as emoções do gramado.

-Os ganhos certamente serão diferentes de outras épocas, e todos do segmento precisam entender isso – afirmou, ao LANCE!.

Contudo, mesmo em meio ao turbilhão mundial, o parlamentar reitera sua confiança de que os clubes brasileiros têm a chance de conseguir uma “grande virada”. Responsável por protocolar o projeto Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF) no Senado, Pacheco indica os rumos para a mudança de paradigma nos gramados e alerta para a necessidade das competições nacionais voltarem a se tornar atrativas aos olhos do público.

– Estamos perdendo torcedores para o mercado estrangeiro – afirmou.

LANCE!:Quais são os caminhos para os clubes brasileiros voltarem a se estruturar diante dos tempos difíceis de uma pandemia?

Senador Rodrigo Pacheco: Estamos passando por um momento muito difícil, dos mais desafiadores da história recente da humanidade. Como todos os outros setores, o futebol também sofre as consequências e em decorrência terá de buscar caminhos alternativos para superar a crise. O calendário já foi comprometido. Então, é o momento de se usar a criatividade, a tecnologia e os novos meios de transmissão, e de se buscar novas fontes de arrecadação. Evidentemente, levando-se em conta sempre a segurança dos atletas, de todos os profissionais envolvidos e do público.

L!:Além da ajuda da CBF, está em pauta uma ajuda emergencial na qual os bancos podem socorrer os clubes dos prejuízos causados pelo novo coronavírus. É um caminho válido?

Sim, estão sendo debatidos diversos caminhos, como adiantamento de valores por parte das loterias, entre outras medidas alternativas. Penso que precisamos avaliar todos os cenários, na busca da melhor solução, para ajudar o segmento do futebol e não sacrificar o Estado.

L!:O senhor propôs a criação da Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF). Com quais desafios os clubes-empresas tendem a lidar neste momento?

A Proposição da Sociedade Anônima do Futebol propõe aos clubes um caminho, seguindo as regras do mercado de valores, para a busca de investimentos. E esse novo caminho será fundamental na retomada da atividade pós-crise. Viabiliza aos clubes a possibilidade de se transformarem em uma S/A. Essa é a minha proposta. Agora, independentemente disso, o fundamental é que o Congresso aprove um projeto que mude o paradigma da gestão do futebol.

L!: Passado este período de pandemia e de recessão, como o clube-empresa pode achar um caminho para atrair investidores?

Será um período difícil para todos, para todo o mundo, mas acredito que com a viabilidade da Sociedade Anônima do Futebol, a novidade irá despertar uma atração no investidor, com um novo mercado. Claro, com o clube que aderir à ideia passando por todas as tribulações que existem em uma S/A, profissionalização, transparência e outros.

L!: Muitas agremiações, inclusive da Série A, já vinham padecendo com problemas financeiros antes do novo coronavírus se alastrar pelo mundo. Crê que este momento difícil também é uma chance dos clubes reagirem nos bastidores?

Certamente, é o momento da grande virada do jogo. Precisamos de um marco regulatório no futebol brasileiro. Como todos percebem, o modelo atual, com raríssimas exceções, já se exauriu.

L!: Como garantir que o futebol brasileiro se torne um produto atrativo?

Hoje o futebol é um grande negócio, é muito mais que um esporte, é uma fonte de entretenimento consolidada e como toda atividade, o futebol brasileiro também precisa ser atrativo. Estamos perdendo jovens torcedores para o mercado estrangeiro. Isso passa por uma série de fatores, como estrutura, segurança, venda de produtos de qualidade e, principalmente, a qualidade do jogo, mas sem perder nossa tradição. Não precisamos imitar o futebol europeu em tudo. Tivemos uma grande Copa do Mundo aqui no Brasil, estádios cheios, um belo espetáculo. Por que não podemos repetir isso aqui nas disputas locais?

O jogo

Os primeiros 45 minutos foram equilibrados. O Fortaleza tentava forçar o ritmo de jogo, mas lidava com a boa marcação do Sport, que não dava espaço ao Tricolor.

A primeira chance do Fortaleza veio aos 28 minutos. Romarinho chutou forte e a bola triscou o poste defendido por Mailson.

Na etapa final o Sport arriscou um pouco mais e quase foi premiado logo nos minutos iniciais. Hernane Brocador viu Felipe Alves adiantado e obrigou o goleiro a fazer boa defesa.

Antes mesmo dos 15 minutos, o Leão teve outras duas chances, mas faltou capricho e sorte na hora de sacramentar o lance.

Na reta final, o Fortaleza tentou no abafa e deu trabalho ao sistema defensivo do rival. Na chance mais perigosa, Felipe soltou a bomba e assustou Mailson.

Pênaltis

Na marca da cal a felicidade foi do Fortaleza. O time de Rogério Ceni acertou as quatro cobranças e contou com Felipe Alves, que pegou o chute de Leandro Barcia. Patric mandou o seu chute para fora e o Tricolor venceu por 4 a 1.

O Allianz Parque será palco da terceira decisão de título em quase seis anos que o Palmeiras voltou para a casa. A decisão neste sábado (8) será a segunda do Campeonato Paulista e a outra foi na Copa do Brasil.

Em 2015, pouco mais de um anos após a conclusão da reforma, o Palmeiras bateu o Santos, nos pênaltis, garantindo o terceiro título do torneio nacional. Dudu marcou os dois gols no tempo normal e Fernando Prass cobrou a penalidade decisiva.

O Alviverde tem bom retrospecto quando a vaga é decidida no Allianz. Em 20 disputas que valiam título ou classificação, os donos da casa saíram vitoriosos em 14 oportunidades.

Wolves look to have unearthed a gem in Max Kilman, with the centre-back now a key part of Bruno Lage’s side and no doubt eyeing up a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

The 25-year-old is a graduate of the youth academy at Wolves and was playing on loan at non-league Maidenhead United just four years ago, before returning to Molineux and establishing himself in the first team.

He has gone on to make 73 appearances for Wolves’ first team, contributing one goal and two assists, and he looks set to form a strong partnership with Nathan Collins at the heart of Lage’s defence.

Should the centre-back leave Molineux any time soon, Tim Spiers suggested that the Old Gold would reportedly demand a fee of up to £30m for the homegrown defender, which is no surprise when you consider his excellent performances in recent years.

Kilman has started each of Wolves’ Premier League games so far this season, averaging a strong 7.00 rating from WhoScored for his performances, which ranks him as the third-best player in Lage’s squad. Meanwhile, the defensive titan has won 3.2 headers per game, by far the most of anyone at Molineux so far in 2022/23.

It is rare to see Premier League sides hand youngsters regular first-team minutes but it has really paid off in Wolves’ case with Kilman, as at just 25 he could be a fixture in their first team for several years to come.

Conor Coady was full of praise for the defender in 2020 after a win against Fulham, saying: “I thought he was outstanding, but I would expect nothing else from him. He’s brilliant to have around and is a brilliant professional – he listens to the manager, he learns off the lads who’ve been playing there the last couple of years and I think you could see that today.

“But also in the games he played last season, so he’s got that experience now of playing a couple of games and you’ve seen that tonight, so I was absolutely over the moon for him.”

Therefore, considering his rise over the past few seasons from non-league to the top tier, Jeff Shi (chairman since 2017) and Wolves have definitely struck gold with Kilman when they recruited him for their academy for zero transfer cost just over four years ago.

Aston Villa will suffer from the potential loss of Matty Cash to injury, Pete O’Rourke has told GiveMeSport.

The lowdown

The right-back was forced off just 27 minutes into Villa’s draw with Manchester City last weekend, and manager Steven Gerrard said after the game that the Poland defender had sustained a hamstring problem and would be sent to have a scan to determine its severity.

Ashley Young seems to be viewed as the back-up for Cash, having come on in his place last weekend.

The latest

Speaking to GiveMeSport, O’Rourke said that the 25-year-old is a big player for Villa and fears that they would noticeably miss him at both ends of the pitch if he is out for a sustained period of time.

The journalist said: “It would be a blow to lose someone like Cash who’s been a key part to that Villa backline for a couple of seasons.

“He’s good defensively, but also very good going forward, so they would missing his attacking input if he is sidelined.”

The verdict

Gerrard clearly has a great deal of faith in Cash, having picked him for every single Premier League game so far this season.

The Poland right-back is a very active defender, recording high volumes of interceptions, blocks and clearances, while he also ranks in the 80th percentile among positional peers for shots and the 86th for touches in the attacking penalty area (via FBRef).

Villa’s full-backs Cash and Lucas Digne are perhaps the team’s foremost playmakers, topping the charts for passes into the penalty area. This is what O’Rourke means when he talks about the 25-year-old’s ability to impact the game in both directions.

Villa could also miss his presence on the training pitch, based on these comments from the manager: “He’s been fantastic to work with, I love his energy, I love his character and his personality. He brings a lot to the group on a daily basis.”

The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell has shared some worrying Glasgow Rangers injury news regarding John Souttar and Filip Helander.

The Lowdown: Barely featured

The Swedish defender has not featured for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team since foot injury.

Meanwhile, 2022 signing Souttar played Premiership, but again has been sidelined with injury and not been able to feature since.

The Latest: Still a few weeks away

Taking to Twitter, Campbell shared a worrying update from Van Bronckhorst on the fitness of the two Rangers defenders, in that they will not be ready for another few weeks at least.

The Athletic reporter stated: “Souttar and Helander won’t be ready in the next few weeks.”

The Verdict: Worrying

It is certainly worrying to hear that it will be at least another few weeks until Gers supporters see Souttar or Helander playing at Ibrox again.

The Light Blues have been shipping far too many goals lately, 13 in their last five games across all competitions, and perhaps it is time for Van Bronckhorst to make a change in his backline ahead of their next set of fixtures after the international break.

Supporters will surely be eager to see more of Souttar, whose Rangers career has yet to truly get up and running, while Helander needs to start proving his fitness if he is to break into the starting line-up.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a deal to bring Idrissa Gueye to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer transfer window.

What’s the word?

That’s according to a report by French media outlet Jeunes Footeux (via Sport Witness), who claim that, with a little over 12 months remaining on his current deal at Le Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain may be willing to cash in on the defensive midfielder at the end of the current campaign.

The report goes on to state that this has alerted Tottenham to the possibility of bringing the 32-year-old to north London this summer, with Fabio Paratici believed to be keeping a very close eye on the situation of the Senegal international ahead of a potential €20m (£17m) move.

Conte’s new Kante

With it being reported that the signing of a new central midfielder is one of Conte’s primary targets in the summer transfer window, it is not difficult to see why the 52-year-old would be interested in a deal to bring Gueye to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ahead of the club’s 2022/23 campaign.

Indeed, according to FBref data, the £13m-rated dynamo ranks in the top 5% of midfielders in Europe’s big five leagues for pressures per 90, as well as the top 7% for tackles, the top 31% for interceptions, the top 8% for passes attempted, the top 1% for passes completed, the top 22% for progressive carries and the top 10% for non-penalty goals over the last 365 days.

Furthermore, the £99k-per-week talent who Joe Rimmer claimed is “absolutely everywhere” is also Premier League proven, having averaged extremely impressive seasonal SofaScore ratings of 7.30 in 2015/16, 7.25 in 2016/17, 7.00 in 2017/18 and 7.09 in 2018/19 with Everton.

As such, despite his advancing years, it would very much appear as if Gueye would still make a fantastic addition to Conte’s options in the middle of the park this summer, particularly if the 32-year-old is available for as little as £17m.

And, should Paratici go on to secure a deal for the Senegalese sensation, he may well have provided the 52-year-old Spurs boss with his new N’Golo Kante – the French defensive midfielder with whom Conte won the Premier League title at Chelsea.

Former Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny believes Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is lining up ‘incredible’ AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as a replacement for Jordan Henderson. 

The lowdown: Reds interested

Liverpool have been long since credited with an interest in the 22-year-old phenomenon and it appears that the speculation is ramping up as the summer window fast approaches.

There is likely to be fierce competition for the Frenchman’s signature as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain compete for the capture.

The latest: Henderson replacement…

Speaking to Football Insider, ex-Leeds United stopper Kenny suggested that the French youngster could succeed captain Henderson in the Liverpool ranks after their own sources confirmed interest from Merseyside earlier this week.

The 43-year-old says Klopp is personally a huge fan of the ‘incredible’ talent.

“He’s already made 130-odd appearances at the top level so that’s incredible.

“Liverpool need to start thinking about this and for me, he fits the profile of a Henderson replacement. He’s been a brilliant servant for Liverpool but he can’t play forever. We have already seen him drop out of the starting XI a few times for big games this season.

“It’s only natural to look for a replacement and if you are going to spend £50million then this is your guy. If you are spending that much, Klopp clearly rates him. He will have big shoes to fill but someone has to do it.”

The verdict: Next-generation needed

Whilst there can be no undermining the success that the current crop of Liverpool stars have enjoyed, Klopp and new sporting director Julian Ward must have what happens next in mind.

Regular midfield trio Thiago, Henderson and Fabinho are all over 28 and at present are backed up by a 36-year-old James Milner and often injury-prone duo Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Adding the powerful French youngster to the likes of Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and Fabio Carvalho would give the ranks a whole new complexion moving forward as the Reds attempt to topple Manchester City going forward.

Holding a likeness to Thiago as well as Real Madrid stalwart Casemiro and Arsenal ace Thomas Partey when using the FBref player comparison tool, Tchouameni – who captained France at the Under 18 level – looks to be ideally suited to strengthen the Liverpool midfield department.

Newcastle United journalist Luke Edwards has been left raging over news of a bizarre Newcastle kit that will reportedly be on show next season.

The Lowdown: Saudi kit

As shared by Edwards for The Daily Telegraph, there has been an image leaked in the last 24 hours of the St. James’ Park faithful’s proposed third strip for the new season.

It presents green sleeve and neck lines with the badge and manufacturer’s logo also coloured in green, on a pre-dominantly white shirt. It is very reminiscent of what the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) national team play in.

The Latest: Edwards reacts

Taking to Twitter, Edwards gave his instant reaction after hearing of the leaked shirt, calling it a ‘stupid’ idea:

“The Saudi third kit idea for NUFC was a stupid one and, quite honestly, the club deserve all the criticism coming their way over it.”

The Verdict: Needs rethinking

It is normal to have a secondary colour on away and third kits not usually seen in the club’s traditional colours, but colouring the badge and manufacturer name green is not needed and not subtle at all in light of controversies in the KSA.

If they were to keep those aspects in their traditional colours, and merely have the sleeve and neck outlines green, then it could be deemed an acceptable strip which both appeals to the new audience in the Middle East and does not detract from the legacy of the club in the North East.

Nonetheless, you can see where Edwards is coming from, and the club have to prepare to face criticism if they go through with the idea.
