Best tips for football wagering in online casinos

With 3.5 billion fans, football is the most popular sport worldwide. As the internet expands the gambling industry, fans need the best tips to predict results.

How popular is sports betting?

The boom of the global gambling industry caused significant growth, from a revenue of $287.43 billion in 2021 to $456.61 billion in 2022. The sports betting market has maintained a constantly growing trend, and this year, sports fans managed to bring the global sports betting market to a total gross of 231 billion U.S. dollars.

Reasons why football betting is so important

When you think of sports betting, the first image you can envision in your mind is the final result of a football match. As football is one of the most beloved competitive sports worldwide, there's no surprise the most considerable demand in the sports betting industry revolves around this sport.

Football betting brings fast rewards

Unlike other forms of gambling, when fans bet on the outcomes of a football match, they do not have to wait a lot of time before they get their results. Bettors will get the final results after some hours or days, depending on when they place their bets.

Betting on football is convenient

Unlike other sports where the rules are too complicated to understand, or the frequency of the competitions is lower, football fans always choose football betting. Also, you can easily place your bets by wagering on online betting platforms as more operators start transitioning their business to the online community.

Football betting offers unlimited options

Due to football betting being so popular not only in Europe but also in the U.S.A and Asia, several gaming industry operators launched gambling-related platforms where players can place bets and wager from anywhere, directly on their mobile devices.

Tips for mastering football betting

The football community of fans is formed among the most dedicated supporters of their teams. Suppose you place yourself under the category of people who want to take their hobby to the next level and consider wagering. In that case, you must evaluate some factors before placing your bet on your favorite team.

Find a reliable platform

Before starting to spend your money on football bets, you should first consider the importance of a reliable and trustworthy wagering website or gambling platform. You should verify reviews of the website you intend to use and choose the best option for you.

Make your decision by comparing other players' opinions toward renowned operators. Also, make sure the betting platform you use is licensed.

Set a realistic budget

One mistake many wagers make when they start gambling or betting is not setting a realistic budget. Therefore, many sports fans lose control and quickly develop a gambling problem without even realizing how easy it is to avoid that. All you must do is establish a budget you're going to stay within.

Take advantage of bonuses and other offers

As the competition in the gambling and betting industry is quite fierce, more operators have started offering their clients various benefits to maintain their users engaged and attract new ones. However, these promotions are not just a marketing strategy. Many bettors benefit from using their bonuses and other offers when placing bets on football or even gambling in a casino.

For example, the biggest web-based casinos have special actions for their newcomers and consistent players. According to gambling research from CasinoBonusCA, almost 60% of online casinos offer free bonuses to new users to keep them engaged. Other generous offers are welcome bonuses or welcome packages. These bonuses offer gamblers clear benefits, and for football bettors, this type of casino bonus is available in the form of free bets.

Do an extensive research

Another major factor in your betting process is researching the teams, players, rules of the game, and competitors in the sports betting industry. Before subjectively supporting a team, take your time to discover all the information you need. You need to know their progress, the number of matches won, and other details.

Also, your research continues beyond the football teams or players. If you need clarification on the game's rules and intend to watch the match, you must also study those. You can even watch review videos of the teams' performance.

Keep your score

Only some punters manage to keep their score, as well. This means you should keep track of your wins and losses if you place football bets regularly. Moreover, another advantage of this system is you can determine whether you're repeating lost bets and prevent you from repeating them.

If you use a specific betting platform or app, they might manage to keep your betting history, and you can verify to see which bets are more successful for you.

Football betting tricks can make you a professional punter

Football remains the best alternative for sports bettors internationally. The main reason for this is that, unlike other sports, football offers the best opportunities for an extensive selection of tournaments and national and international competitions. Any gambler considering joining sports betting would opt for this sport as it has it all.

Newcastle ready to do anything for Veiga

Newcastle United are willing to do anything to bring Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga to the Premier League this summer, according to reports.

The Lowdown: Scouting mission

The Spaniard’s contract in La Liga isn’t set to expire until 2026, but being Carlos Carvalhal’s second top-performing offensive player, has caught the eye of Eddie Howe at St. James’ Park.

PIF have reportedly already sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old wonderkid in action as they consider whether to make an official approach during the upcoming summer window.

Alongside Manchester United, the Magpies are believed to be firmly in the picture to land their target ahead of the new season, and it sounds like they are ready to do whatever it takes to beat their fellow competitors in the race for his signature.

The Latest: Newcastle ready to fight

According to Spanish reports (via Sport Witness), Newcastle and United have been joined in their pursuit by Arsenal, with the trio of clubs open to doing the ‘unspeakable’ in order to convince Veiga to make the move to England.

Real Madrid are also casting an eye over his situation, but it’s the competition from the top flight that Celta Vigo ‘could be worried’ about.

The midfielder does have a €40m (£35m) release clause included in his current contract, and considering he’s recently changed agents, a summer transfer looks ‘very likely’.

The Verdict: One for the future

Veiga has previously been hailed ‘amazing’ by talent scout Jacek Kulig and he would be an excellent signing for the future of Newcastle in years to come.

The Celta starlet has clocked up 22 goal contributions (18 goals and four assists) throughout his career so far and has already made his mark on the international stage having represented Spain at U21s and U18s level (Transfermarkt).

The Magpies target currently ranks in the 99th percentile for three different statistics, including total number of shots per 90 minutes, highlighting the bags of potential that he’s already displaying to potential suitors despite his young age.

The O Porrino native would also be able to provide the manager with wonderful versatility with his ability to operate in six different positions, including as a centre-forward, which is a great attribute to have should any unexpected injuries occur.

Veiga would likely thrive under the guidance of Howe, who already has a reputation for developing and introducing younger players into his first-team squads, so he’d only excel further should he sign on the dotted line in the months ahead.

Newcastle: Media praise Bruno Guimaraes

Some members of the media praised the performance of Bruno Guimaraes in spite of Newcastle United losing the Carabao Cup final against Manchester United.

The Lowdown: Heartbreak for Newcastle

It was heartbreak for Eddie Howe’s men as they went down 2-0 to Erik ten Hag’s side thanks to a Casemiro header and an own goal from Sven Botman in the first half.

The Magpies did not perform too badly, having much more possession than their opponents and recording 15 shots on goal (Sofascore), but ultimately it was not enough as the Red Devils emerged victorious.

The Latest: Bruno was ‘brilliant’ for Newcastle

Despite Newcastle’s defeat, some members of the media were full of praise for Guimaraes’ performance in particular, with The Independent journalist Miguel Delaney hailing him as a ‘brilliant’ midfielder, tweeting: “Bruno Guimaraes is even better live, must be said. A brilliant midfielder.”

Pundit Jamie Carragher said on co-commentary for Sky Sports (17:53) that the Brazilian was ‘really good’ and labelled him as ‘so important’ to Howe’s team.

The former Liverpool defender gushed: “Guimaraes has been really good today. You can see why he is so important to this Newcastle team.”

[web_stories_embed url=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/newcastle-news-7/” title=”Newcastle news!” poster=”” width=”360″ height=”600″ align=”none”]

The Verdict: Newcastle’s shining light

Guimaraes was the one shining light in what was an otherwise uninspiring performance from Newcastle at Wembley.

The 25-year-old won a player-high nine of his duels and also recorded three successful dribbles, three tackles and a 92% pass accuracy (Sofascore).

Put simply, Newcastle are a better team with him in it. The numbers prove as such – they have not won any of the six games that he has missed this season.

Nonetheless, the Toon must now put this defeat to one side and concentrate on the battle to finish in the top four in the Premier League, ultimately bringing with it a place in the Champions League for next season.

Frank Lampard eyeing Southampton job

Southampton ‘have had interest’ from former Premier League manager Frank Lampard in the vacant role on the south coast, according to recent reports.

The Lowdown: Marsch talks break down…

It was widely believed just two days ago that former Leeds head coach Jesse Marsch was set to take charge at St Mary’s after positive talks.

However, after a managerial twist, negotiations with the American broke down, with reliable sources suggesting that the main reason was down to contract length.

After sacking the under-fire Nathan Jones last weekend, Southampton are now back to square one in their search for his successor, and Sport Republic’s next move could be crucial.

The Latest: Southampton attracting Lampard’s interest?

According to The Guardian, in terms of alternatives to Marsch, there could be a handful of contenders for the vacancy at St Mary’s, with some big names displaying an interest in the role.

One of those is former Chelsea and Everton boss Lampard, with the report stating that apparently the Southampton board ‘have had interest’ from the 44-year-old among other candidates.

The Verdict: Good option?

The Premier League playing legend’s last two high-profile jobs at Stamford Bridge and Goodison Park ended in his prompt dismissal, but Lampard did guide Derby County to the Championship play-off final in 2019, and he has managerial experience in both of the top two divisions in England.

He has also survived relegation battles before, having steered Everton away from the drop zone towards the end of last season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also once heralded the ‘exceptional job’ that he feels Lampard performed at Chelsea back in 2020 before his eventual sacking, so the 44-year-old does come with some credentials.

However, given that the majority of his roles have ended in disappointment, Southampton must be wary of hiring the former Everton boss and perhaps ascertain why – if they do indeed regard Lampard as a viable candidate.

Arsenal: Sky reporter makes ‘really interesting’ Declan Rice claim

Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has made a ‘really interesting’ 2023 transfer claim involving Arsenal and West Ham star Declan Rice.

The Lowdown: Gunners chase Caicedo deal…

The Gunners are believed to be chasing a deal for Brighton star Moises Caicedo this month as manager Mikel Arteta seeks to improve his midfield options.

Arsenal arguably have a real lack of cover in place for star man Thomas Partey, leading to links with the Ecuadorian and Rice.

As the north Londoners attempt to sign Caicedo before January 31, supporters have wondered whether this will impact a potential summer move for Rice.

The Latest: Bridge shares ‘really interesting’ Rice to Arsenal update…

Bridge, speaking on Sky Sports, now claims that a move for Caicedo won’t impact Arsenal’s summer interest in the West Ham sensation – calling the news ‘really interesting’ and ‘huge’.

He explained:

“Really interesting one this, we’re told that Arsenal remain interesting in signing Declan Rice in the summer, regardless of how successful and the outcome of their pursuit of Moises Caicedo.

“I think that’s huge, it shows the ambition of Arsenal.”

The Verdict: Very promising…

Potentially having both Caicedo and Rice in Arsenal’s ranks by the end of the summer, if the club manage to get deals over the line in each respective window, would indeed be huge.

The latter player has starred for West Ham since bursting on to the scene a few years ago, standing out as their most crucial asset with manager David Moyes even claiming he is worth £150 million at one stage.

The England international has also attracted interest from Man City, perhaps summing up his obvious quality, whilst the homegrown ace is also a proven top flight player.

Meanwhile, Caicedo has been called a ‘big player’ by Roberto De Zerbi and currently ranks as their best tackler per 90 according to WhoScored.

Both players would come as fantastic alternatives to Partey in front of Arsenal’s back four, yet both of them would be quite simply sensational.

West Ham: Moyes dealt blow in Moffi pursuit

West Ham United have been dealt a potential blow in their bid to bring Terem Moffi to the Premier League in the January transfer window.

What’s the latest?

That’s according to Miguel Delaney, with the journalist revealing in his latest article for The Independent that, after West Ham saw two bids for the centre-forward rejected by FC Lorient, Olympique de Marseille have now joined the race for the 23-year-old – whom Lorient are said to value at a figure in the region of €30m (£26.5m).

Furthermore, another report by French media outlet Foot Mercato has also claimed that the Nigeria international is now no longer interested in a move to any of West Ham, Southampton or Everton this winter – with Moffi appearing to be keen to remain in Ligue 1 beyond the closure of the January transfer window later this month.

Ings replacement

While it is true that West Ham have already attempted to address their lack of goals by spending £15m on Danny Ings this month, with the 30-year-old’s poor injury record having already reared its head – with the striker set to miss the next three games after picking up a knee injury – it is evident that David Moyes is still in need of greater strength in depth up top.

And, considering just how impressive Moffi has been in France so far this season, it would appear an extremely wise move for the Hammers’ board to cough up the £26.5m needed to bring the 23-year-old to the London Stadium in January as Ings’ replacement.

Indeed, over his 18 Ligue 1 appearances this season, the £18m-rated talent has been in sensational attacking form, having already hit the back of the net on 12 occasions – massively outperforming his xG of 7.31 – in addition to taking an average of 1.9 shots – 1.1 of which have been on target – making 0.5 key passes and completing 1.1 dribbles – at a success rate of 61% – per game.

These returns have seen the £15k-per-week hitman – who Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig claimed Lorient hit the “jackpot” on when signing for €8m (£7m) and Christophe Pelissier branded a “high-level player” – average an astonishing Sofascore match rating of 7.05, currently ranking him as his club’s joint fourth-best performer in the top flight of French football.

As such, considering just how consistent Moffi has very much proven himself to be in the final third, coupled with Ings’ ongoing injury issues, it would indeed appear as if Moyes could hit the jackpot in landing the Nigerian sensation this winter – leading us to believe that West Ham simply must pay the striker’s asking price in order to fight off the competition for his services this winter.

Chelsea planning ‘further talks’ with Enzo

Chelsea are planning ‘further talks’ with Benfica and Argentina starlet Enzo Fernandez ahead of a potential January move, according to a new update.

The Lowdown: Enzo linked with Chelsea move

In recent days, the Blues have been strongly linked with a move for the 21-year-old, whose reputation has gone through the roof after the 2022 World Cup.

Fernandez won the Best Young Player award at the tournament in Qatar, proving to be a key midfield figure for eventual champions Argentina.

It looks as though the youngster could leave Benfica during the January transfer window and a new update suggests Chelsea are right in the hunt.

The Latest: ‘Further talks’ expected

According to The Daily Mail, the Blues will ‘continue their aggressive approach’ to sign Fernandez this month, with ‘further talks’ planned this week.

Chelsea’s owners are ‘determined’ to give Graham Potter a squad that can fight on all fronts and the Argentine looks like a primary target.

The Verdict: Boehly in overdrive

Todd Boehly is not messing around when it comes to the winter window, already locking up deals for Andrey Santos and David Datro Fofana before David Ornstein revealed this weekend there is also an agreement for Benoit Badiashile.

Fernandez could be another sensational signing by the Blues – Benfica manager Roger Schmidt has called him a ‘complete’ player and his World Cup performances for Argentina are proof of exactly that, as he averaged 3.1 tackles per game and an 88 per cent pass completion rate.

Granted, the money Chelsea will have to pay will be huge, but they would be signing someone who could dominate their midfield for years to come, adding a much-needed injection of youth in the middle of the park.

With each passing day, the more it feels as though the west Londoners are the favourites to sign Fernandez and a January deal could enhance their top-four hopes hugely.

Tottenham: Spurs make contact to sign Sofyan Amrabat

Tottenham have made contact to sign Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat who is in high demand after his 2022 World Cup performances for Morocco.

The Lowdown: Spurs eye move…

Spurs are among the Premier League sides interested in the 26-year-old who dazzled during his country’s run to the semi-finals, where they were heartbreakingly knocked out by France.

Morocco became Africa’s only ever nation to make it that far in a World Cup and it’s safe to say Walid Regragui’s side won the hearts of football fans everywhere.

Amrabat was a major part of their success in Qatar, proving a colossal presence in front of the back four and starting every single tournament game.

The Latest: Spurs make contact for Amrabat…

According to reports out of Italy, there has been some movement involving Spurs as they take their interest in the Serie A midfielder further.

The north Londoners, and by extension sporting director Fabio Paratici, have apparently opened discussions over signing the player through making contact and asking for information.

[web_stories_embed url=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/tottenham-latest-news-3/” title=”Tottenham latest news!” poster=”” width=”360″ height=”600″ align=”none”]

This information comes courtesy of Viola News, who claim both Liverpool and Ligue 1 giants Paris-Saint Germain are also targeting Amrabat.

The Verdict: Wonderful player…

After his brilliant campaign for Morocco in the Middle East, there is no denying Amrabat’s quality, with national team boss Regragui calling him ‘world class’.

It’s also expected that a major side will snap him up in January, yet we believe reinforcing central midfield should hardly be a priority for manager Antonio Conte.

Indeed, the presence of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma and Oliver Skipp arguably provide more than enough steel in that department.

Rangers: Beale can get Matondo firing

Glasgow Rangers have appointed Mick Beale as their 18th permanent manager and he will lead the Ibrox club into a new era.

The Light Blues are currently nine points adrift of Celtic in the Premiership title race and while this gap looks unsurmountable, Ange Postecoglou’s side found themselves six points back last season and still won the title, so it is possible.

Beale’s main aim, especially during the opening few matches before the January transfer window opens, is to get the best from the players he has in front of him.

Rabbi Matondo was a player that didn’t get much of a chance under Giovanni van Bronckhorst and the 42-year-old could certainly rejuvenate him and make use of his talents, especially his impressive turn of pace.

The 22-year-old made just six league starts under the Dutchman and although he registered three assists and created three big chances, Matondo often lacked the killer instinct and as time went on, appeared to lose confidence.

The £28k-per-week speedster has been praised for his acceleration previously, with former Wales manager Ryan Giggs dubbing him “electrifying” while even Pep Guardiola had good things to say about the winger, stating that he was “incredibly fast” which provides a key insight to the attacking threat he can possess.

Van Bronckhorst’s negative style of play didn’t allow for the wingers to fully express themselves and this was a key failing in the way he set up his team during matches. Beale on the other hand plays with much more attacking impetus placed on the two wingers and this could only benefit the Welshman.

Last season, Matondo scored nine goals and grabbed two assists in the Belgian top flight and when full of confidence, the youngster can also provide a goalscoring threat from a wide position.

If the new manager can get him back to the form he showed last year while out on loan at Cercle Brugge, then he could totally transform the team and this might be crucial heading into the second half of the season.

Diego Carlos return would be ‘huge boost’

Journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that Diego Carlos returning from injury before the end of the season would be a ‘huge boost’ for Aston Villa.

The Lowdown: Out of protective boot

It was reported earlier this month that Carlos is now out of his protective boot, after rupturing his Achilles tendon on his home debut against Everton back in August, which has kept him out for the rest of the season so far (Transfermarkt).

He is continuing his rehabilitation work at Bodymoor Heath alongside strength and conditioning coach Oli Stevenson, and is targeting a return early in the New Year, after previous concerns that he could miss the rest of the season.

The Latest: O’Rourke reacts

Speaking to GiveMeSport, O’Rourke has claimed that it would be a ‘huge boost’ for Unai Emery and his squad to be able to recall Carlos this campaign, adding that he has been a ‘big loss’:

“I think he’s been a big loss in that defence where Villa have conceded a lot of goals, they’ve tightened up under Unai Emery, but I think if Emery could call upon Diego Carlos between now and the end of the season, it would be a huge boost for the whole squad.

[web_stories_embed url=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/aston-villa-latest-updates-copy-2/” title=”Aston Villa latest updates! (Copy)” poster=”” width=”360″ height=”600″ align=”none”]

The Verdict: Massive

It cannot be underestimated how massive it would be for Villa to be able to play Carlos again from the start of the New Year, after initial fears.

The central defender ranked as Sevilla’s seventh-best performer in La Liga last season, while none of his team-mates averaged more aerial duels, clearances or blocks per game than him, per WhoScored.

It is easy to see why Villa paid £26m for his services in the summer, and given that they have conceded 22 goals already in the Premier League, the ninth-most in the division, the Brazilian would be welcomed back at Villa Park with open arms.
